Nice practice report, fksooner! Much appreciated!!!

The reception you and your family received came as no surprise to me. That's just one of the things that has endured this group of players and our coaches to OU fans. Nearly every poster who has attended a practice session the past three years has had similar positives things to say.

Two things stood out to me:

We arrived about 30 minutes before practice started and Buford and James were already in the gym shooting threes and making most of them.

It's good to know that our younger players are buying what Buddy and Isaiah have been selling since their freshmen season. If kids like Dante and Christian continue to work hard, they stand the chance of making a huge impact next season. With thee starters and a key player off of the bench no longer around, the youngsters on this team will need to step up if we're to make a return trip to the NCAA tourney.

The biggest take I got was the older guys took the time to help out the younger guys. At one point the starters were watching from the baseline, after the play was over, Ryan walked over to half court to explain to James what he should have been and James listened. You can really tell how close of a team they are.

Judging by everything I have seen and heard, the older players on this team are like coaches on the floor and on the sideline. James appears to be one of the main targets. I think that's because guys like Ryan and Buddy see something special in him. So do I.

Yep Ada one of my wife's friends from high school worked in the OU basketball business office until a few weeks ago, she just took a job in the OU football business office. She meet us there and had nothing but nice things to say about Lon and everybody else associated with OU basketball. Lon even called her after to tell her they were going to miss her and wished her the best. She said all she could think about was that he is coaching the number one team in the nation and here he is taking time out of his day to call and tell me that. Nothing but class.
