My 89-year-old father underwent a heart procedure this morning. It was considered low-risk but there were complications during the procedure. They were able to complete the procedure, but we don't know yet if he came through it safe and sound (there's a possibility a stroke occurred, for one thing). As you might imagine, we're on pins and needles.

Dad was a Sooner season-ticket holder for several decades (football and basketball) and attended every OU-texas game but three from the late 1940s till just a couple of years ago. Please hold a thought or say a prayer (or both) for a diehard Sooner fan and a good and decent man.

Best wishes to this special Sooner and his family

So sorry to hear that, Sky! My prayers will be with your father, your family, and with you of course.

Prayers for your Dad!

Which hospital was the procedure performed?

Dad’s undergoing his second surgery of the day, never a good thing, but they found where he was bleeding and are fixing it. Thanks for your kind words, thoughts and prayers, all. Please keep ‘em coming (the positive thoughts and prayers, that is).

Prayers headed your way!!!
I’m in OKC now. He came to the second surgery as well as could be hoped. We don’t know exactly where he’ll stand when he wakes up probably sometime tomorrow but you take the small victories as they come, And the fact that they found the bleeder and were able to fix it is, for now, very good news. I went to the hospital once my plane landed. He is totally out, and didn’t know I was there, but I got to see him and hold his hand and tell him I love him. Now it’s time for bed; I’m exhausted. Hopefully we have some sooner magic to look forward to in the next few days
