Rakeem Christmas 6'8"- top 10 player for 2011 names his top 8:

Baylor, Florida, Georgetown, Indiana, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, Villanova

He's from Philadelphia

If you care... Phil Pressey has narrowed his list to 6 schools:

Arizona, Baylor, UConn, LSU, Mizzou, UCLA

The twist with Pressey is that he wants to play with his brother Matt (Navarro JC)- who is not a high D1 prospect but is more of a glue guy (all around decent player). If a program opens up a scholarship for Matt, they have a big advantage in landing Phil.

Of the schools listed, I see only Baylor and Mizzou doing that kind of a deal.

Baylor Baylor Baylor Baylor. What the heck is Drew doing down there? Isn't it standard protocol to WIN FIRST then start attracting high level recruits? Must be the "playing against the best" theory that's working in Baylor's favor.

That said I wouldn't doubt it at all if Pressey ends up at Baylor. In fact, I'm sort of leaning towards my being surprised if he doesn't.

Christmas is like the 6th best player in 2011, so we really shouldn't put too much stock in this.

If he commits to the Sooners, they might have to bring John Brooks back. Brooks could say "jimeeeeeeny Christmas, Christmas!"

I get what you're trying to say by don't get your hopes up, but just because he is a highly rated player doesn't mean we are out. Whenever Capel makes it in the top 10 of a player's list I like our chances.

Sorry, I was being sarcastic for the self-deprivating crowd we have here. I am very pleased with Coach Capel as a recruiter.

Christmas would be a huge get. I am glad to see that OU is in on him early.

A Villanova fan is saying he is a Texas lean. But they already have 4 verbal commitments for 2011. If Christmas wants to come, I'm sure they find a way. UT is my #8 choice for him on that list!

I saw you working that poor whorn fan on the rivals national board. You are one of a kind, DFW. Maybe after Drew leaves, BU, you can be a full time OU fan and fight for us over cyberspace? *pleading look on face*

One ha$ to wonder if it the pre$ence of the next Tim Duncan or $omething el$e is how Baylor get$ on these elite player'$ li$t$?

Hey now Soonersam, you are about to cross my Rick Barnes imaginary line and incur the full assault of my wrath with comments like these. But since I am in a charitable mood, I will let it pass.

Tweety Carter is a huge part of Baylor's recruiting success. The guy is a born coach and salesman- wouldn't be surprised to see him as a GA after his senior year is done. He's got a lot of charisma. I count five current players as saying Tweety had a big impact on their decision to attend Baylor- Udoh, Acy, Dennis, Dunn and Crump.

I'll work the horns fans over whenever I get the chance :) That is why I will cheer for OU because I know it kills the Horns to see OU do well. They got it going on, I will give them that. The only one I have it out for more than the Horns is John Higgins (referree and Barnes' lap dog).

I kid you not in the big 12 tourney he called 18 fouls and 14 of those went against Baylor. After the game, a friend and I were standing on the concourse at OKC before the Mizzou/OSU game. Higgins comes strolling around in street clothes. We have an unwritten rule to only point out officiating deficiencies after wins because after losses sounds too much like sour grapes.

My buddy turns to him and says, "Higgins, you didn't do us any favors." Higgins turned around and unloaded on us with several f-bombs. We were in shock. His ref buddy quickly escorted him out. I am sure there were financial reasons why he was so upset about the outcome of that game...

I wonder if Christmas is related to Lloyd Christmas?
