This hire is BY FAR the least reach of ALL of them.

Kruger is a PROVEN winner at multiple places.

With our situation in mind, I'd say...

1) Kruger

4) Stevens
5) Buzz

I felt coming in we needed an older guy the right the ship and build us back. I doubt any coach we were going to hire now was going to still be here 10 years from now. What we need now is a guy that can build the program back up win some games get us to the tournament. So a next young guy can take over and win right away. If that's Terry Evans or some other young guy we don't know right now. The OU program is at it's lowest point in almost 50 years right now. We need to build it back up to a good program again.

Immediately after Capel was fired, LK was 6th on my wishlist of what, at the time, I felt were realistic candidates, i.e. no Stevens. Very good hire... B+/A-.

i had Buzz # 1 for these reasons as well, also it seemed he had legit interest in the job at the time. After Buzz i did not have many expectations, but about 3 days ago i posted that Kruger was the guy i wanted to see as head coach.

1 month ago, I had no idea who Buzz Williams or Shaka Smart or Gregg Marshall or Johnny Jones were. I knew who Lon Kruger was. I never thought of him as a candidate though. Figured he was entrenched and would retire at UNLV. When Capel was fired, my first thought was Stevens, then I realized his contract situation, and figured that was far fetched. Then, we got blitzed with Buzz info, and it seemed that was the guy we were all supposed to hang our hat on. Buzz may someday be Lon Kruger, but he ain't right now. And we got Lon for the same price Marquette paid Buzz.
