Really? The Pac-10?

The bottom line is that people like Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn do a lot more damage to the reputation of OU than our true academic standing.

Perception is reality and when the state is represented by people totally detached from proven science and economics the entire state gets a bad wrap. Thankfully Boren is leading OU has to help.

The perception of Oklahoma would be greatly enhanced if it were represented by the like of Harry, Nancy & Maxine, huh?

Why do you constantly insist on posting your political garbage on this board?

This isn't the place for political posts. I'm not a fan of Inhofe in particular, but he doesn't represent OU.

this is a joke right? OK-LA-****ING-HOMA with california universities? Are you guys that desperate for california validation?

Incredible. I'm sure those rich california schools will adore Love's gas station and what-a-burger.

You hypocrites.

Don't come crying to OU fans. If your university wasn't so pathetic and would actually carry your weight, OU wouldn't be looking at other options.

Seriously, KSU fans should be thankful for the Big 12 programs of OU's stature for at least prolonging the Big 12's existence and not bolting. It at least has given another year for K-State not to have the chance of being relegated to an irrelevant conference.

there was a deal in place for kstate, ku, isu & mu to go to the big east last year if the conference came apart. if they end up going there anyways this year, but without mu, i don't see any reason to be grateful to ut or ou for stripping kstate of a long-term rival.

i wouldn't blame ut/ou either, it's not like they would have done it on purpose or out of malice.

I don't remember it being any foregone conclusion for K-State to get tied-into another AQ conference should the Big 12 had dissolved last year. I also didn't say it was a certainty K-State would've been left out in the cold; that's why I said there was a chance they would've been excluded.

I agree with you that K-State shouldn't have to thank OU, Texas if it lands in an AQ conference. But that still remains an "if". If I were a K-State fan I wouldn't be confident that it will find a safe spot to land should the conference disband.

it was a done deal last year. i'm can't say with certainty that it would happen the same way if needed this year, but a guy in the kstate a.d. that gives goemaw.com some info seems pretty confident.

I read that article as well. Nevertheless, I read from a multitude of sources akin to CBS that were purporting K-State was going to get left out in the cold. That's why I don't think K-State salvaging a Big 12 departure with an AQ invite was a "done deal". It could've happened, but nowhere near to the same probability as the OU's and Texas' landing in another powerful conference IMO.

i don't know, i mean, i know at least two different people in the kstate a.d. believed it was a done deal. and it has been referenced by various credible news outlets, but it's impossible to prove a hypothetical.

ou & ut are in a different category altogether. there's no need for documentary evidence, simple logic would suggest that either could join any conference they wish, or maintain the viability of the big 12 by staying together. it's just a matter of choice for them.

Fair enough. I haven't seen as many sources claiming the same as CBS (been seeing more claiming towards the opposite), but at the same time I haven't been keeping up near as much regarding K-State's scenarios as you have obviously.

It is hillarious to see KU, KSU and Missouri on the outside looking in. It is shame that ISU and Baylor might get screwed but KU, KSU and Missouri getting screwed makes me smile. I really hope Missouri gets screwed the worst. People blame Texas arrogance for all of this but as I recall it, Missouri was the arrogant school that started all of this.
