After a thrilling win...what's your thoughts? No biggie...just waitin til Sat.

I still think it'll be tough to get to 9-9 in conf. Yes the young guns are playing well...still have a lot of tough games. Honestly, not sure I'd put OU more than a 2-3 point fav at home against any team.

Obviously, tcu/osu/ksu/ut...prob isu at home would be my + picks. Home games against wv will be a tough one but obviously won there so it's a 50/50 game.

Road games against ku, bu, isu will be very tough.

Road games against osu/tt/ut could be another 50/50 game or maybe a 2-3 point dog.

uf at home would be a great opportunity for a win against another good team.

9/9 conf 16/14 (beat uf) overall = NIT?

I think best case scenario is finishing 6-7 going forward. So overall conference would be 8-10

Tough one. I think a 10-8 or 9-9 record gets us in the NCAA. Out of Conf games hurt. But they big 12 is good.

10-8 with a win over UF would put us at 17-13 and we would be very very close to dancing ..

I actually think winning nine of our remaining games is possible, though hardly likely (that's eight in-conference, plus Florida at LNC). Doing so would give the Sooners a 17-13 regular season record and likely a top-four seed in the Big 12 Tournament.

OU is currently 8-9 overall (not counting the exhibition win) and 2-4 in the conference. If we win eight more in conference play, we would finish the regular season with a 10-8 conference record,

Winnable conference games (in my opinion) are ISU (Home), both games against UT, both games against OSU, WVU (Home), KSU (Home), and TCU (Home).

Likely losses would be at Texas Tech, at Iowa State, at Baylor, and at Kansas.

I know the above would be a tall order. But if our youngsters continue to improve and Woodard can stay healthy, it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I think this scenario would make it very hard for us to be excluded from the NCAA Tournament. I would agree its possible, but man that's a tough road; hard to predict that as the outcome. I'd say 9-9 in Conference play would be awesome. 6 of those wins would most likely come at home with another road win mixed in there. And then of course that'd bring our record to 16-14, with the Conference tournament. I actually think this could be a good thing for us because it would give us another legitimate chance at another Big 12 win...

I think at that point being an NIT representative would be great... I'd love to see us get into the tourney; but I think our record + losses to Auburn, Memphis, TCU & a possible loss @OSU or @UT will ultimately hurt us...

But hey I love the fight of this team and i wouldn't bet against them being able to pull off the unexpected.

I'm just not ready to say we can beat both ut and osu on the road...1 maybe but I see them as a lot like us...since I gave OU the home have to give them.

Obviously this team has a high ceiling...they are learning. Wv game and tech games should prove they can withstand a run (wv give up a lead) and come back and win.

Should be an interesting 2nd half run.

My line-up

JW
McGusty
Doolittle
McNeace/Lattin
(both have +'s, maybe McNeace is mentally better off the bench)
Odomes

James
Lattin/McNeace
Buford
Shepard

Freeman
Strong (very little)

Agreed. We just had an incredible road win at probably the second toughest place to win in the Big 12, but I'm not ready to proclaim us road warriors yet. Absolutely I know we CAN, but I'm not sure if we WILL. Winning on the road is extremely difficult even when you have a Final Four team. I just hope if we do, that we don't give any back at home. Like WV.. I bet Huggy Bear is counting the days to try and pay us back. Anyway, games like last night are what make following a team like this so fun, because after we blew the TCU game I'm thinking there's no way we'll win a road game. Just like people have said, there'll be some unbelievable victories(last night), but also some stinkers coming because we're so young. Brace yourselves!

Here's the remaining schedule with the odds I give for each, assuming healthy teams:

Jan 21 Iowa St. 55%
Jan 23 @Texas 45%
Jan 28 Florida 45%
Jan 30 Oklahoma St. 65%
Feb 4 @Texas Tech 40%
Feb 8 W. Virginia 50%
Feb 11 @Iowa St. 30%
Feb 14 Texas 65%
Feb 18 @Oklahoma St. 50%
Feb 21 @Baylor 20%
Feb 25 Kansas St. 55%
Feb 27 @Kansas 20%
Mar 4 TCU 60%

That adds up to a 6-7 expected record, but protect the home court every time and it jumps to 9-5, with a conference record of 10-8. I think that's about as optimistic as I can be at this point.

If we went 10-8 with a win over Florida we would make the tournament. The committee would likely throw out the losses without Woodard. That being said, 10-8 will be very hard to accomplish.

i think we win 4 maybe 6 games left on the schedule. don't make the NCAA. we cost ourselves that with some choke jobs early on.

i still think this is a learning process. Kruger is the guy for the next run. very good basketball coach and we are lucky to have him.
