Wow so I just got back from Jamaica and saw that tj is gone....that hurts!!! He would have been a staple guy....IMO....every program needs kids like him

But looking into the future....we have one guy signed....tj schools is now open, cades got taken by goff....will hardicks and Ameds be available?

Will capel screw up again like last year and just sign guys to sign guys?

Anyone know who OU is going after in the late period? I agree that OU can't afford to just sign guys.

I was wondering why we only had one guy signed as well. but then i looked at other schools like us & they dont have many either. But we dont have ONE not ONE player in the top 100 wanting to come here. this HAS to change. HAS TO. hopefully if TJ really does like OU he will come back after juco. maybe he just reallyy needed to go home for whatever reason. also here are some guys in oklahoma

anyone know about any of these guys??

also do yall think Eaton going to OSU helped lebryan nash make his decision? ugh i wishh we could get someone like him.

Right now OU has one open scholarship to give out for this year, I would guess (keyword guess) anywhere from 0-2 more scholarships might open up this year. The likely candidates for scholarships to open would either be Ahmed or Hardick, but who knows with either of them though.

The staff has made it fairly clear in all the recent recruiting activity that a PG is a need for this upcoming season. Cezar Guerrero (California) and Eli Carter (Brewster Academy) seem to be the top two candidates for point guard. I would guess OU would take one but not both of the two and they would take "TJ's ship". Cezar can score but looks like more of a true point while Carter is a combo who seems Newell like because he plays off the ball for Brewster and is one of their best scorers.

I am not sure where OU would go after that, perhaps a Juco big, maybe a prep or Juco wing for depth at if more ships open up (I've started to sell myself on the idea of getting Josh Richardson, 6'5 wing, from Edmond Santa Fe). I also think that if they get a PG and there aren't many impact players to be had they might hold onto the ship for 2012 (lots of local talent and Capel appears to pounding the pavement for that class).

For now there appears to be enough depth to be good enough next year.

Guards
Freshman/Juco Point
Newell
Blair
Clark
Pledger

Forwards
Fitz
Osby
Goff
Thompson
Washington
Neal

I also believe that in the right situation Osby, Thompson and Neal could be wings next year at times.

Eaton going to OSU played a big role in Nash's decision. Nash had been regularly visiting that campus due to his half brother since 7th grade or so.

-what about blair? hes done nothing but improve IMO.

Point Guards take some time to develop I would think. Maybe they are looking at a 1-2 year lag that would put Blair as a senior. Newel would probably go to shooting guard. Just my guess though.

My personal outside observer opinion is that a point isn't much of a need for the team next year. I think Blair and Newell are good enough to wait a year and go after some of the bigger fishes in 2012 (L.J. Rose, J-Mychael Reese, etc).

The coaching staff's attitude seems different as since the signing of Goff they have been actively going after point guards. Nadair Thrape and Boatright are two they missed out on (KU and UCONN commits). Now they're going after two more. For whatever reason the staff believes they need another PG and they seem dedicated to signing another this year.
