If we had shooters returning that had these averages, we might feel pretty good right now.

Peyton 34.36%
Gioya 40.00%
Gabbi 33.33%
Maddie 41.38%
Derica 31.75%

Unfortunately, those are the numbers for 2014-2015. This past year, they fell to:

Peyton 31.88%
Gioya 27.12%
Gabbi 31.34%
Maddie 30.38%
Derica 39.39%

We only shot 31.54% as a team, whereas we had shot 34.85% as a team the year before. Our FG% from for 43.55 to 41.36%. For us, that is low.
2016: 41.36%
2015: 43.55%
2014: 43.83%
2013: 42.32%
2012: 42.48%
2011: 42.69%
2010: 43.09% Final Four team

Three point percentage:
2016: 31.54%
2015: 34.85%
2014: 32.78%
2013: 36.61%
2012: 34.71%
2011: 35.20%
2010: 31.01%

It is curious that our worst three-point shooting team in the past seven years was the Final Four team.

As the men's team has demonstrated, good coaching and lots of practice can improve shooting.

It's been a long time since we've hit a final four... Hopefully that'll chance soon, it looks like we should have capitalized on our success and had a good recruiting class in 12... Rachel Hollivay, Nirra Fields, Alexis Prince all took official visits, Counrtey Walker committed Jamee Swan and Sidney Cook expressed interest, but all went on to have decent not great careers at other schools...

I've always thought OU as more of a shooting team, but with numbers like that it is hard to win games if we don't have confrance play of the year type of kid on the roster.

Hard when you dont play good defense consistently.

Agree on the defense. Shooting percentage dropped markedly but defensive play seemed to drop even more than years past.
