Robert Goff has just informed me that he has officially signed his release from his letter of intent today. OUHoops.com will find more information on the Oklahoma recruiting scenarios based on this information.

I am assuming that he probably wasn't going to qualify given this outcome. I am just speculating, though.

He had a horrible juco year. Just awful.
With bad reports on his attitude from anyone involved with him including academics.

It was obvious that a new coach was going to re evaluate and possibly cut him loose.

Wonder if Olaseni was told this would happen and will be offered tonight or tomorrow.

From all reports, the Olaseni ship has sailed.

He's verbaling to Iowa along with his teammate Katenda.

Thanks for the update, WJ!

While this news was not unexpected, it's good that we finally have closure on Goff's status. It will be interesting to see if LK signs another big in the current class, or sets it aside for one of the players we're in on next year.

and to think this guy was one of our saviors... good luck wherever you end up Robert Goff.

It's too bad it didn't work out for Goff. I thought he was going to contribute more than people were thinking. Hope he gets everything in order and can still play D1 ball somewhere.

Where does that leave us on schollies. Grooms gets cade's schollie. Arent gets TJ's schollie. So, if my math is right, we have one more to give and that is Abdul's schollie -- right? Do we know whether Thompson and/or hardrick are really leaving? Inquiring minds want to know.

He was atrocious in juco this year... Really, really bad. This isnt a big deal at all.

Until an official announcement on Thompson and Hardrick are made there are no more scholarships available. That being said there is a ton of smoke around both being gone at the end of the semester.

Yep.

There is talk of us leaving one scholarship "open" as well, and kind of self-assessing that penalty on ourselves in hopes that the NCAA will accept it, and we won't lose any schollies in 2012 or going forward. That is just talk though.

I'd almost rather leave both 'ships open, and that way, we'd have three to offer next year, and multiple the year after that. Or maybe Honore will get one next year, who knows.

On scholarship next season for sure:
Senior: 1. CJ Washington.
Junior: 2. Carl Blair 3. Steven Pledger 4. Andrew Fitzgerald 5. Romero Osby 6. Casey Arent
Sophomore: 7. Cam Clark 8. Tyler Neal 9. Calvin Newell

Redshirt:10. Amath M'Baye

Currently still on scholarship, but won't be by the summer:
11. Nick Thompson 12. Kyle Hardrick

So currently we have 1 open scholarship. It's looking like there is about a 99% chance we will have 3 open scholarships. I think we need to get an incoming freshman or two.
