I know its a small sample size, but it seems like they are working. Last I saw, scoring was up a little over 6 points per game nationwide and the games seem a lot more watchable, at least in my narrow view. The best illustration---the last (and perhaps only) "#1 vs. #1" was a 49-48 slugfest that I doubt anyone will ever refer to as a classic.
I think the single most important change is the emphasis on "freedom of movement". They tried this as a point of emphasis a few years back, but the refs basically abandoned it in conference play. I hope they stick with it this year.
