I wonder if he will get looked at for any high major jobs... KSU? Mizzou?

It is a valid question. However, it also looks like they are on the outside looking in to the NCAA tournament unless they win their conference tournament which means you have to look at their strength of schedule in order to get to that 21 wins. We all know he can coach it just depends on his preference and if another major school wants to take a chance on him. Also why throw KSU into that conversation at the moment as currently they still have a head coach that possibly could still get them into the NCAA tournament. Change at KSU at this point is not in evitable unlike the decision that has already been made at Missouri.

He would be a good fit at Mizzou.

They need a coach with some direction for the program.

I hope he stays where he is. He may be tempted to try and leave when his senior-laden team doesn't get an at large bid to the tournament.

I don't see him moving. He can build Houston into something pretty solid if he waits it out another couple of years.

I think part of them taking a chance on him was him telling them he would stick around.

Weber is most likely out. The next KSU AD will be a Snyder pick and the alums/donors will put pressure on him to remove Weber. They are tired of him in Manhattan. He has less than a 10% chance of returning at this point.

This makes sense to me but I think Kelvin also believed Houston had a chance to get into the Big 12 when he was hired.

I don't see Kelvin taking KSU and Mizzou is in shambles. LSU would be a possibility for him though. SEC is a conference ripe for a good coach, just look at what Martin did at South Carolina. Kelvin could compete very well in the SEC and Big 12 just not at the 2 schools mentioned (KSU and Mizzou).

I don't see Kelvin leaving Houston. Why should he? I realize Guy Lewis hasn't been there in 30 years, but he did lead Houston to 5 Final Four appearances. They also have 3 of the 50 best NBA players of all time, so there is definitely some tradition to build off. From my understanding, Houston is more of a commuter school (like DePaul), but I just don't see why he can't win there. Actually, he is winning there...at about the pace I thought he'd win. I figured when he got hired and inherited nothing, he would have Houston in contention for an NCAA tournament by Year 3...so he's right about where I thought he'd be. The guy isn't much younger than Lon...not sure there is a reason to keep moving around unless it really is for a much better job (which Missouri, KSU and LSU are not).

There's never been any doubt he could coach. Get him an unlimited data plan and let him coach

As good of a coach as Kelvin is, and as much HS talent as there is in the Houston metro area, he can produce 20+ win seasons in his sleep. He can be patient until the right job comes open, and KSU ain't it.

He better get them to the Dance soon, or the fans will turn. His coaching staff, and support staff is starting to look like a collection of family and former players.

Everybody knows Kellen is on his staff, and Hollis is (as something other than an assistant coach). He just hired Quannas White this month as an assistant coach. And I didn't know, but his daughter is Director of Operations (External).
