Scout's Evan Daniels: "One on one with Trae Young"

I asked Evan if OU has a legitimate shot at signing this kid. I also asked him if Pritchard's decision to go to Oregon as well as distance will be a factor? I'll let you know how he responds when/if I hear from him.

My take is his body language was a lot more positive about Duke and Kentucky than OU. I also think he said great for the OU visit versus awesome for the Duke visit. My gut feeling is he is going to Duke, Kansas, Kentucky or Arizona. I hope I am wrong.

Yeah, I didn't feel terribly hopeful after watching that. I think that, generally, for us to beat out those programs for a recruit, he'd have to either have forged a very strong bond with Coach Kruger (always a possibility) or have grown up an avid Sooner fan.

Pretty sure he was at a the alumni game today. Whoever it was and it looked like Trae was getting the royal treatment. The coaches were on him, the former players were talking to him. Renzi spent quite awhile talking to him and then he was hanging out with Buddy.

That was him. He was with Buddy a lot.

Great news! This may be wishful thinking on my part, but I see that as a positive sign for OU. Trae could come in next year and play right away, plus he would assume ownership of the team until he decides to move on to the next level.
