Just one observation, but Pellington is going to be special.

Sounds good to me, hopefully she’ll prove to be a impact player...

It did look like to me also that Pellington will be the starting PG. Other PGs were Penzo and Maddie and I would guess Maddie will play PG when Pellington is out. Gabbi played exclusively at the 2 and shot it well behind the arc during the live action sequences tonight.

It was ran a little like a practice. And they didn't go full court very much. I assume because it's a small team this year. Manning was held out of some things but played in others going full speed so not sure what that was about. Once, when the team had to run, Manning did another exercise instead. May be some kind of nagging injury. Llanusa looked good but didn't shoot too much. Pellington was lightening fast and made some really good passes. I can see why she will play point with Gabbi at the 2. Simpson looks like a better version of Kellogg although a bit slower. Everyone looked to be in really good shape. Gabbi looked slimmer than she has been in years past. Lanesia looked improved. Hopefully she can contribute this year.

They were constantly rotating players in the scrimmage portion with no five staying together for more than one defensive & offensive possession. With the constant turnover of personnel and wither going against the men, it was tough to get a feel for what to expect. As mentioned, there were three points - Maddie, Shaina and Penzo. From what I saw, I would expect Maddie and Shaina to play the most at PG. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with their ability to score.

Williams shot the ball from outside better and Gabbie looked like the 2 would better suit her. Ana looked like she will have good all around game. As far as the bigs, ViVi looked to shoot most every time and had trouble getting it over the guys. EJ and Mandy both had trouble handling passes.

I like to be optimistic, but am having trouble this morning. I’m not sure what to expect, but right now, making the tournament seems like a good accomplishment for this team.

I am encouraged that we have exhibited the vision to put Shaina at the point and a three-year starter at point to a two-guard. Old dogs can change?

You are right, Syb. That is very un-Sherri like. Last time Hand?

I just wonder what next year's situation with PG will be Since tatum veitenheimer is coming in. From what I've seen Shaina will be a really good point guard, but will Sherri move her when Veitenheimer comes in? Sounds like a good problem to have!

Tatum, I think, is a lot like Gabbi. Shaina will still be the fastest on the team. Sherri does like fast.

I suspect that this may be the first time that Sherri has had her idea of a PG come in with a starting PG ahead of her. DRob had the job as soon as she hit campus. So did Gabbi. Dionnah happened to have Stacy Dales in front of her when she arrived. Who else would have been her idea of the perfect point?
