Guess it was inevitable that prices would go up. Went up more than I was expecting though.

yea mine went up over 20%. Oh well, they are putting a better product on the floor than when Kruger go t here

Can't wait for KU fans to buy all the upper level donor seats that OU can't sell.

I thought mine had gone up by 21%, but then I remembered there was a program where a deposit was paid in advance of the 2014-15 season that reduced last season's total ticket price.

When I add the $50 deposit I paid in March 2014 to the $450 I paid in July 2014, my price per seat went from $500 last year to $550 this year - or an increase of 10%. I can't gripe about that.

You know what, I forgot about that also. I have the same price level as you do

My basketball season tickets also were increased by 10% from $500 per seat last year, to $550 this year.

The real sticker shock will happen over the next few years for the donor amounts at the football stadium. Many folks like me, that have had the same football donor seats for 10, 15, 20 years or more, have not seen an increase in their donor level in a long time. That is about to change. For example, if you bought west side bench seating in section 6 (40 yard-line ##) back in 2000, the donation required for each season ticket was $500 per seat, per year, and still remains at that level. If you are a new donor getting seats in the same section now, the donor level is twice that amount, or $1,000 per seat, per year. The time is soon coming when the long time donors will have their donor levels raised to the current rates, and the current rates could be going higher.

(## Obviously, the donation amount is in addition to the price of the season ticket. The west side chair-back sections with access to the Jack Santee lounge require higher donations than those discussed above.)

One can speculate that this donor increase process would have started in 2015, except plans were delayed by the poor performance of the football team. OU football fans were in no mood for a big increase following a 5 loss season that included two 34-point blowout losses. In other words, a good football season will be followed by a big increase in the price (donor portion) of football seats.

I have been told that donations are not going to go up for existing ticket holders only seat moves or new seat holders ..

I'm lucky with the football tickets. I bought what were known as Sooner Saver Tickets back in Stoops' first year. Now that program is gone, but I'm grandfathered in.

Be interesting to see what my seat options are though, after my seats are gone from the South EZ. I imagine they'll try to move me over to the corner EZ seats, which might not be so bad.

Correct...usually seat movers, new season ticket holders and transfers (from Father to son, etc) have to increase their donation level.

I hope you are correct. That was certainly true in the past, but I was told that this will change in the near future.

I went to the Athletic Department's presentation on the new seating opportunities in the upgraded South End Zone. There is a 2nd floor site on Asp in campus Corner where current donors and season ticket holders are invited to view and experience full-size examples of the new suites and loge boxes. This is a one-on-one presentation with videos and a Q&A about all aspects of the stadium expansion.

At this presentation, the "Sooner Club Representative" told me that the donor amount was to be raised for all "grandfathered donors" in the future. He would not say when this was going to happen, as the timing is yet to be determined. The affected "grandfathered donors" will have the option to have their donor amounts increased to the current rates on a gradual basis over several years.

This is what I was told face-to-face by an employee of the OU athletic department during a presentation on the stadium expansion plans.

That may be so, sorry I was talking about in the past. I'm sure it will be like a country club membership...most new members at regular clubs don't pay the initiation fee upfront (especially the YPs), it's layered in over time.

I have heard this as well from an OU athletic employee. While they will get some super negative feedback, we have so many VERY old grandfathered in donors that are basically getting away with robbery on how little they are paying for amazing seats.

Sure you can say they have been here forever and essentially earned it, but the flipside to that is, if you want to continue to build bigger and nicer things, need to match the revenue with that as well. Missing out on a lot being a 'nice neighbor' and not following supply/demand.

If I have one complaint it's that the price increase wasn't announced until a few months after the deposit was requested.
