This time from Texas Tech.

Merv Lynsday committed to Texas Tech two months ago, but just today made the switch to kansas. This coming on the heels of them taking a kid who had been committed to SDSU.

That makes four three star recruits in their 2011 class, three of them outside the rivals top 150 and one just barely making the cut (plus Tharpe and McLemore... both good, but still below the level they're used to).

In 2012 they have one commitment... from another 3 star player.

They also still have two scholarships sitting empty.

Seems like their recruiting just isn't the same ever since the FBI started looking into things.

This also just in...Merv Lindsay's mother just got a job as a manager at a McDonald's in Lawrence.

I heard she will be subleasing from Ms. Morris next year until she's able to purchase a home of her own in Lawrence.

No word yet on which of Scott Pollard's old cars Merv will be driving.

Merv Lindsay? WTF is going on with KU's recruiting? I'm pretty sure they don't need to offer any job to a parent to get Merv "friggin" Lindsay. Cherry picking middle of the pack team's recruits now? Why not save this for 2012 if you're Kansas? This move makes no sense to me unless someone is not qualifying in their class OR Self doesn't think much of his current players.

KU's scout board is in meltdown. Some have 100% faith (blinded) in Self. Many others are calling it the apocalypse. The board and Jayhawk nation is imploding as I type this. Developing.....

Yeah, this feels like the Galindo years. I trust Bill Self and think he'll do a great job with what he has but it's extremely disappointing our recruiting has hit such a lull.

It's crazy when you consider what how well he's done at getting players to the league: Wright, Rush, Chalmers, Arthur, Jackson, Kaun (very soon), Morris, Morris, Aldrich, Collins, Henry, Selby. Then you have the guys he inherited: Simien, Miles, Giddens. And guys on the current team that have a great shot at the league: Robinson, Taylor, Johnson.

Amazing to me that KU is struggling so badly. I guess the saving grace is that the Big 12 isn't exactly setting the world on fire right now. 5-6 years ago we'd be looking at 6th place with the next couple year's lineups.

I think you may have answered your own question a bit. When recruits see that a team has 2-3 experienced players that are possible NBA level players in front of them a lot of top recruits won't come running. Also, I don't feel too bad for Self as the belief on the national boards is that he's about to land 5 star center Kaleb Tarcewzski

The Pump brothers aren't getting their tickets anymore from the athletic department. I guess that means their AAU players don't head to KU anymore.

More importantly, Morningstar isn't getting his cut.

The Pumps are connected to all kinds of programs. Morningstar's only connection is to kansas.
