I've fallen out of date with hoops recruiting but have obviously heard a bunch about Shake.

Anybody know where the Sooners stand in his recruitment? Didn't his late father play for a Texas school?

He is one that would look great in the Crimson and Cream!

I've heard that either him or Trier are starting to get looked at by the cadillac schools(Dookies, etc) and that we won't get a sniff. Too bad it has to be that way...

On the other hand, why does it have to be that way? DIdn't UNLV just get a major top 10 guy? SMU got Mudiay... Our staff should be able to do that every once in awhile....

What really made me sad the other day was reading some old recruiting articles about Julius Randle and some of his buddies. At one time, he was trying to get guys to go to OU with him. That's what the players in the articles were saying... I know that OU right now isn't Kentucky, but it seems like if OU had had just a little more swag or whatever he wanted, OU is where deep down he really wanted to go. Now, if it came down to Calipari's shady money stuff, then that makes sense. But makes you wonder what could have been... Randle in this offense, and his defense? WOW

You do realize that Kentucky is one of those Cadillac schools don't you?

Trier is taking off. Word is he will make grades and all the big dogs are after him. Shake is still a guy that is taking off. Several good offers, WSU leads I think... OU is hard after them both. Shake is wanting that UT offer.

We have a chance on both, personally I think we have a greater chance with Shake than Zo.

If you looked at opportunities not sure where both fit. I have seen Milton in person and he silky smooth and should be a really good college player. Trier I have no idea, but with both when you look at OUs young wings I can see someone opting to go somewhere else. Maybe both are good enough to start day one, not sure. But OU has wing depth right now

They'd be coming in when our class of Hield, Hornbeak, and Cousins are seniors. So there might not be a ton of minutes in year one, but it opens up after that.

Yes. So?

My point was, that non-Cadillac schools sometimes get the very top guys, and Randle really liked us for awhile. What could have been... That's all.

Trier would play instantly.

Last I heard he really likes North Carolina if not there Texas. His momma wants him to stay close to home with his little brother and sister. That Is ou's only chance in my opinion.

He liked Capel, that was the only reason.

Really? Two years after he was gone?

I don't think it was two full years. But best I can tell, that was the case. We didn't get much interest from Randall after Capel left.

Thread hijackers... Exchange PM and exchange cell numbers and you can talk about Capel there.

I thought some of these guys had to do with Jeff Webster (Randall and Isaac Austin).

Has that ever worked out? Has any of Jeff's guys ended up at OU?

Yep, while I agree that Capel may have made an early run at finishing 3rd or 4th for Randall, the quotes I read dealt with Kruger being here. And the hope by some insiders that the Jeff Webster connection would pay off. Obviously it didn't.. But maybe it will after a few more years of success. Putting OU's great BBall tradition aside, you really can't blame the top guys looking at the Cadillacs what with the state the program was mired in with Capel, including probation. I think Kruger's classes are improving every year though..

Solid good guys on the Aau circuit do things right. Webster has to do what he feels is best his his kids.

Look at john Lucas he pushed lattin to OU. He had ties to a ton of non- OU schools including ok st and Texas and Baylor.

It would be great to get Shake. All reports are he looks effortless in getting points.

Remember when the noncadillac schools get guys there is frequently shading dealings going on behind the scenes. The exception is when they are from the area.

As far as Capel getting Cadillacs that was only Blake who was in town. His other so called Cadillacs were knock offs and the big boys didn't really recruit them because they weren't good people. This showed in their play and off the court issues.

Not entirely true. Tiny and TMG had plenty of options.
