Shake to smu

I was just about to post that. Good luck to Shake. Not that surprising. Still relatively close to home. Still disappointing though.

Well, that stinks. Very disappointing. It's one thing to lose a local star to one of the big hoops programs, but to SMU? I wish him well, but I'd sure like to know how he came to that decision.

They promised him starting pg spot next year.

I thought that might be an issue.

He liked the future of smu and where brown can take him

So sick of losing these kind of players to out of state programs!!! Especially programs that haven't done $hit in years!! Just because they hire some old fossil of an NBA coach it's all the sudden the flavor of the day?? News flash "Shake" LK coached in the NBA too! Have fun going to a school with virtually no fan base....see how that works out for you after basketball.

They promised him starting pg spot next year.

Did they also promise Larry Brown will still be there in 2019?

Honestly, a player who isn't willing to earn his playing time disappoints me. He could be playing minutes from his home at a much more accomplished program and he opts instead for being a big fish in a small pond. Does he fear he wouldn't be getting enough minutes at OU?

So... on to Jaylan Poyser? or did we burn that bridge when we told him not to visit

Well, I guess LK will have to find another late bloomer that no one knows about.

Unfortunately, this has been LK's pattern over the years. Great coach and great man but not a great recruiter.

They invested a lot into getting Shake, I'm sure they are very disappointed.

Brown is a nomad. No guarantee that he will even be there for Shake's arrival next year.

Anytime a coach "promises" you a starting position...I'd be very weery of that coach. WTH is he gonna "promise" the guy they recruit next year if he's better than you??? If they really did promise him a starting pg job then they are truly pathetic and desperate.

When a kid goes for "promises" of a starting position, what's LK to do? He can't/won't make the same promise, and I'm glad of that.
