Sherri is excited for OU basketball

It sounds like Sherri is excited the team is in the Top 20, maybe she's content with the team just being ranked...

I'm surprised she didn't rag on Buddy Hield, norm. I'm still pissed that you put him in your example of kids Coach Coale wouldnt recruit to OU. Totally unjustified and it shows you know very little about the men's team.

The kids on Lon's roster are as first class in the classroom and in the community as any group in recent memory with Buddy leading the way.

I started that because I brought up Cousins name, tough kid, plays with a edge, but does have a bit of chip on his shoulder...

I think he needed that to survive and thrive where he grew up. Might Amanda Thompson have been described similarly - on the court at least.

I really admire Cousins' work ethic and his ability to keep playing the other phases of his game at a high level even though he was in a shooting slump. He's become one of my favorites on the men's team.

Coach has consistently over the years expressed her desire for her kids to have a little attitude - she usually calls it "swagger".

I didn't think Amanda played with a chip on her shoulder, but I thought doing well, and being able to make it in the WNBA and being able to make big money as a professional was important to her. Amanda, I have always assumed, came from the inner-city and didn't have anything and loved basketball and saw it as a way to make a good living. I don't believe I have seen anyone as dedicated as she was or at least no one more dedicated to improving her game. I have always admired her and OU coaches and she stay in touch which makes me feel she is doing the right things. She was the first OUWBB player and maybe only who has ever listed a woman athlete as the person they most admired. Other players mentioned male pro bb players or their parents. Yeah, I don't think it needed to be an athlete but, if so, why not a female? She named Lisa Leslie. I wanted her to make it in the W so bad and be able to play on overseas teams that paid the high salaries. Didn't expect her to make a million/season or even $500k/season but really hoped she would
be one of those players that made $200k/season. Then when it was over, hoped she would be able to become a college assistant and work herself up to head coach. But she seems to be doing okay and I think she will be able to go into coaching when she retires, if that is what she wants.
