If Sherri could have do-overs on both the Marist and the ISU games, I would bet money she would coach each game differently.

We may be selling our talent a bit short. After all we played two top 5 teams and now 3 top 11 teams down to the wire. You don't do that without some talent.
I know that we don't have a lot of highly ranked players but how accurate are those ratings? The women's rating systems as they exist are not nearly as extensive and probably not as accurate as the men's basketball and football rating agencies. And we know that even those miss quite a bit.
I coached men in middle school and high school and for two years in the army a long time ago so I am hardly an expert.
I can only express some questions I have.
With four starting guards that can penetrate so well why and at least two of them who a good three point shooters why don't we drive and dish to the three point line more. We do that mostly on the baseline with a pass to the opposite corner but the driver couldn't get a shot from there. Both Marist and Iowa State wore us out with that tactic with probably less athletic players.
I have a hard time figuring out Sherri's substitution logic. Kornet for example has games where she played only 0 and 2 minutes and 5 where she played at least 23.
Wyatt has 3 games where she didn't play and on the other hand 6 where she has played more than 20. She has 7 where she played less than 15 minutes.
I know some of it is determined by fouls and the quality of competition but I really don't know what to expect in player rotation other than KayKay relieving Nicole Griffin.
With the brilliance of set plays out of bounds I have a hard time understanding why we go so stale at times in our half court offense. Certainly some of it is on the players as those dry spells are usually packed with turnovers and poor shot selection.
I'm happy with Sherri as our coach. I think the program will improve in the near future. And you can't guarantee that even Geno would attract the same kind of players to Oklahoma that he gets at Connecticut. Remember, GG got all kinds of talent at Duke and won a lot of games. At Texas which should be a slam dunk in recruiting it wasn't the same and they suffered during her tenure.
Not comparing GG to Geno but I think you get the picture.
Gioya will be fine! Trust me. My cousin is still adjusting to the game but I can promise you she will be fine! True freshman who's been thrown in the mix early. Give her some time. Yes she turns the ball over but a lot of her turnovers come from players not catching her passes. Wait until she get aggressive and gets her scorers mentality back like she had in high school.
Thanks for all the support for Gioya! I have been watching her play for years so I know what she is capable of. I'm proud of her and what she's done so far for this team. If you watch the games closely watch how many passes her teammates blow and let go out of bounds. If I'm correct she lead the team in assist against ISU.

I think the descriptions of the Gioya that are being posted are similar to what we saw with Maddie, and Maddie is five inches taller. This is a type that Sherri is looking for.
