Shot selection

Cousins really had a tough game.

Some of that is good defense.

Sure wish we ran more set plays, instead of the jr high weave. No creativity in our O at all.

A combined 20 points in 3 games from your second leading scorer isn't going to get it done...

How many times have I seen Cousins driving with a decent lane to the basket, and he never even looks at the hoop? He just looks back out to dish it to somebody behind the three point line. Sometime I t's like Cousins will only shoot if he can be a step inside the 3 point line, and do a step back line drive with a hand in his face.

2013-14...worked hard on offense = huge improvements

2014-15...worked hard on defense = huge improvements

2015-16...work hard on developing production from 2nd unit?

That, which should help with us having problems staying at a high level all 40 minutes

Totally agree. I really feel like Cousins has the kind of ability to be an effective off of drives to the rim. He just loves that pull up J so much. I'm confident he'll go back to work this offseason and come back stronger next year.

Cousins and Spangler struggled down the stretch a bit this season. I can't wait to see them as seniors.

Agree. I think they've got to work to get Cousins to relax a little and not rush in tight situations. They also have to find a way to save Spangler's legs during the season. That's 2 years in a row he faded to a degree at the close of the season. Our depth up front should help with that next season.

Spangler has faded big time 2 years in a row. Something's up. Guys a warrior but if we need to sit him the first 20 games lets do it.

Just need more depth. Spangler averaged 31.2 minutes per game this season. That's a lot to ask from a guy that does that kind of dirty work. He still battled every game, but there's no doubt he was either injured or just worn down by the end of the season.

31.2? Didn't realize it was that high. That needs to come down and will.

You see the differences between our bigs as Thomas could put himself into a position offensively where he could score. This is just not Ryan's game. He relies on properly placed interior passes for layups.

Yep. 3rd on the team behind Buddy and Woodard. To give you a sense of contrast, Michigan State's 2 bangers (Costello and Schilling) average 20.7 and 16.9 per game. That matters when you're fighting for critical rebounds down the stretch.

Not trying to compare the two, but I went and looked it up for fun, and Eduardo averaged nearly 35 minutes per game his Jr and Sr years. That is crazy given how hard he played.

I know people around here love Spangler, but he is really a guy that should be coming off the bench for OU. We've got a pretty good roster of guards already, and next year with the incoming talent, but we really need to upgrade the bigs.

I agree to a point and this will come in time. I always felt the same way about Bookout.
