looks like shari gets her team in for the 15th straight year. but this is the most exasperating group that she's ever put on the court. there has never been a bball team from jr. league, to the pros, to European club ball, male or female that has missed as many point blank shots as this team. they probably don't shoot 50% on layups. griffin, Williams, and durret insist on dribbling before a layup and get nearly as many balls stolen as shots they blow. kornet flat can't make a layup. hooks makes a lot of layups but she throws up a lot of wild ones that have no chance. and they can't make threes. even ellenberg has lost her stroke. this is a flawed team and after the way they played against a pretty pathetic Kansas team, i can't see any chance of a sweet sixteen. before yesterday, I still believed that they could get it together. I think maybe they just don't have enough to get it together. of course we have shari so a miracle is possible. if she could only shoot layups and threes for her team.

Yes, they should if they can manage to keep the main thing the main thing (scoring) for a few more games and win at least one at the tournament. But careful, careful to remember that OU/OKC is not a host this year and the NCAA must make SOME money. I'm sure the Big 12 is praying for the teams success and hoping that they show up to the conference tournament with renewed strength and a winning attitude.

No doubt this team has under-performed. It will be interesting to see if Aayrn can make shots when she comes back. We will also see if Griffin can rebound the basketball or if last night was a fluke. Morgan is playing very solid right now and she and Sharane needs to play as well in the remaining games as they did last night. If each girl mentioned plays well, then we are in the tourney and should win a game or two before heading home. Based on the way this team has played this year, I think most would agree a Sweet Sixteen finish would be a good ending to a disappointing year. To do that they have to play well every game.

That pathetic Kansas team blew out Baylor!!!! With the exception of Tech, this conference is very tough. We played the #2 team in the nation to overtime, played Duke tough. This team has the ability, but they must execute. They shot horrible against Kansas yet still won because they crashed the boards on both ends and played great defense. Teams have off nights from beyond the arc and rarely win, yet they did. Everyone needs to stop talking about this being a disappointing season and take one game at a time. And saying individual players are huge disappointments is unnecessary, they accomplished more than most on these boards.

The seeding committees historically have put emphasis on accomplishments (i.e. resume of good teams you beat, rather than who upset you). DarthSooner has mentioned some close losses that fortunately were nationally televised. On the other hand, most of the nation were shown OU thoroughly getting drummed by Baylor. To OU's credit, they have wins over two top-25 teams, OSU and Gonzaga, plus wins over two other also-ran teams in the coaches poll (Texas and ISU). That plus the close losses against some of the bigs should be enough of a resume to get a vote over many if not most of the other bubble teams.

However, OU is not even mentioned in either poll, i.e. they probably will not even be a 8th seed. Even if they are (or even if they aren't), they most likely will be playing a another pretty good 7th-10th seed bubble team in the 1st round and then a 1 or 2 seed in the 2nd round. IMO, another sweet 16 is a long shot. The seedings just won't favor us this year.

OU has just lost too many or those close games this year, and justly because of that record, they will not be afforded a seed that allows them to advance past the 1st weekend.

no, they have shot horribly all year long. only vegas , wyatt, and hooks are above 35% for the year, and each is barely over. lets look at some others--- Campbell-8-48, carter 7-35, kornet-22-74, and others- 3-24. and if you take away the 6-7 wyatt had in a meaningless game, the % is much worse. and continually losing games that you have in the bag, doesn't make you better. and while Kansas blew out Baylor, they are still pathetic. look at all of their games. la Monroe beat Alabama in football a few years back. does that make the good? no, they are still pathetic. yesterday was a bad win. CLEARLY!

The seeding committees don't judge based on individual players, just teams resumes. And if you are on the bubble, you will be judged against those other teams and their records.

I doubt anyone can deny the Sooners have definitely underperformed this year both as indivuals and as a team. Whether they still have enough of a resume to qualify for the Big Dance is another question altogether.

A bad win? This late in the season every win counts. Plus a wins a win, and we've won 2 in a row without our leading scorer!! Too compare football to women's basketball shows how little you truly understand, and I find your lack of knowledge disturbing. And yes losing close games has allowed us to win the last two and learn from our future mistakes. If you don't think this team is worth it, then stop posting and watching and jump on the West Virginia or Oklahoma state band wagon.

I'm glad we have so many selection committee members on these boards, might be an NCAA violation! The committee does look at your losses as well as wins and how you competed. Someone mentioned the espn Baylor game, and how everyone saw us get beatdown. We had chances in that game, but it also showed just how truly bad the officiating has been in the big 12 all year, unfortunately we will not get many calls in Waco. However if we win 2 of the last 3 and win a game or two in tourney, then they see at team that's won 4 of 5 to end the season and a few in conference tourney. We'd be considered peaking at the right time. Deal with it folks the big disappointment team will make the tourney, or I'm not a Dark Lord of the Sith.

I agree. The first time OU blew the game against UT. This time they found away to win 2 close games. I am sure Ross had a effect on some of the recruiting. Cancer took alot of emotional and physical time. Last year they played the season for her. No doubt OU will get back to competing in the Big 12 and make a run for more final 4's. I am just glad Hook isn't going out without a fight.

Great post Darth. You're obviously not just a real Sooner fan, but an intelligent one as well. Not sure I can say the same for the guy you were answering -- on either count.
