This team just can't get over the hump in games that matter...blown wide open lay up to send it to overtime. Smh.

I think we've made a lot of progress here at the end, we played tough tonight. The way we ended up losing sucked but if we can keep this effort and hopefully make a couple more shots next week we have a real shot to win a couple games.

Completely agree. We didn't wilt at all. We had a lot of bad luck on losing the handle in some key possessions but the guys played OK and fought. Our D was much better tonight. If a few more of our open shots fall we win.

Mental toughness. We don't have it. Were not consistent and blow huge opportunities

It seems like we miss more dunks and wide open lay-ups than any team I have ever seen. It's unreal. I mean how in the hell did he miss that??? I would be a lot more pissed if that was for the win, but it wasn't. SHouldn't really impact our seeding all too much. Anyone can see the two teams out there tonight are just about equal.

That's why I say next year is our "year" in terms if just battling in these games and playing hard I feel like they do. Sometimes...but I think they've had great experience with a lot of these games now. I think this game really helps them in, if nothing else, late game situations and just what not to do. They will be REEEEALLY good next year.

it was bad luck, but the big 12 player of the year played like a second teamer. That was the difference in the game.

From my perspective we were better defensively the last 8 minutes but am curious about our inability to stop Niang and Morris from driving and getting to the rim, making runners and pass outs for wide open threes.

Basically ISU was totally committed to the offense of spread the court and allow Niang or Morris drive the lane beginning the second half of the games in Ames. Defensively we were not good against their penetration.

I know that the Cyclones are an excellent 3 point shooting team but to me it appeared that we could stop their penetration by going to the zone and forcing them to take more perimeter shots. I know Kruger is not big on playing the zone but ISU looked to me like an opportunity to do so. Your thought?

For certain you are not supposed a game when you win the boards by 16 (43-27) unless you only get two more shots which is what we did.

My guess would be he was trying to get it out of his hand quick to beat the clock. No big deal. I'd much rather rest up and win 2 next week.
My problem is with the bench. They've been BAD. Need immediate improvement.

Man, you need a nap. Tomorrow will be a better day. They overplayed Buddy all night and dared someone else to beat them.

We are a 3 seed most likely and we are "snake bitten"? I can name a list of bubble teams who would probably look back at their season and say that. I mean come the hell on. I typically like your posts, op, but get over this fixation.

Disagree on the lack of mental toughness tonight. I thought we showed some serious cajones in hanging in there when isu went up 7. We are still inconsistent, but almost every team out there is inconsistent to a degree. I thought we should've forced it inside a little sooner and tried to take it to the basket more often earlier in the game. We took way too many threes....and I think that is the main reason we lost.....we settled too much in the first half and early part of the second half.

We took 28 threes tonight and made 7. Poor shot selection/shooting did us in.......if you want to call that snakebitten.
