I missed the top half of the first. What was Chamberlain's injury?

Her replacement, Paris Townsend, committed an error on a misplayed fly ball, and OSU scored four (two on that play). 5-4.

After watching replay I'm guessing, and hoping, she hyperextended her knee. It looked like when she was sliding in headfirst on her stomach that her leg bent all the way forward to where her heel was touching her butt. It was about 4 pitches later that she requested help and she wasn't limping all that bad. I sure hope it's nothing serious!

12-3 Sooners in 5 innings. Britany Williams was spectacular with 7 rbi's.
11-3, and they credited Brittany with six rbis. I didn't think they would let that last double count, unless it bounced over the wall. As soon as the eleventh run crossed the plate, the game was over with no further advancement (run rule). So, Brittany got credit for a long single and one rbi on the play.
Texas scored in the bottom of the seventh to beat Baylor 3-2. But, Baylor finished second, Texas third.
Selection show is at 9:00 tonight. I think it is on ESPNU.

My eating crow time. I said they would not win the conference because of weak pitching and a weak bottom of the lineup.
Great contributions by Stevens, Self, and Ellis proved me wrong, happily. Also wrong to underestimate Gasso.

I have been pleasantly surprised by Stevens. At Stanford, she had pitched pretty well, especially for a freshman. I think her progress this year has been outstanding. She will be in the Ricketts/Gascoigne category by her senior year. I don't know if she has Rickett's speed.
But, I have been absolutely shocked by Self and Ellis. Self led the Big Twelve, and she already had had an ACL repaired. She'll be outstanding for the next two years---good contact. She hits the ball, doesn't try to overpower it. Ellis is the best defensive catcher we have had, and she has much more offense than she showed last year. I wonder which freshmen from this year will shock us next year? I understand we have some recruits who can play next year.

OU will host a regional as the #7 seed. Other teams in the regional are A&M, Hofstra, and Bryant. OU will play Bryant Friday night. Tickets go on sale in the morning at 8am. You can call, 325-2434 for tickets.

That is correct. If the seeds hold and it's us and Tenn, the Super-Regional will be held in Norman.
