will hopefully be that Coach Capel will be able to really push guys in practice and get them ready for Utah. Today, this young team took a step back with that performance (especially in the second half). Kind of brought them back down to earth after two and a half really good showings.

While it is a natural tendency in basketball to have a bit of a let down in the second half when you've gotten a big lead in the 1st, this is the 2nd straight game we have seen a bit of a let down on the defensive end in the 2nd half. We have still managed to outscore our opponent in the 2nd half in both games, but we've got to learn to keep up the defensive intensity in both halves, not just the 1st.

Something else positive from the 2nd half(I think)... :tinypower. His first 3 as a Sooner; and a sweet shot it was. :clap

Tiny, for a good stretch in the second half, was the only Sooner giving any major effort out there. Really proud of the way that he is taking his job seriously in the post. He took another charge today, had a nice block, and was pretty relentless on a couple of his putbacks. Really good to see him progressing because this team absolutely needs him to be a dominant force on both ends by conference play.

His defense has improved a lot. I was impressed with his on ball pressure, the blocks, the steal and finish. He played a complete game. Love the way he got after the offensive rebounds tonight.

Agreed, Bigtime.

It's especially nice to be able to start learning from wins and not losses. Often times you can take as much from a win as a loss.

Loved Tiny's effort tonight. Sure, a few plays he got a bit tired and made some mental mistakes, and he got caught on a guard a time or two and didn't have a fighting chance, but if he plays that hard we will make the Tournament.
