Reading that article makes me realize even more how fortunate we are to have a coach like Lon Kruger. It's obvious the players give him a lot of the credit for their improvements the past couple of years. It's also nice to know that he gets the job done without verbally abusing his players or "earning their respect" by making them fear him, the way some coaches do.

This is probably the quality that I love most about Kruger. You can watch some of our games and see the HC on the other bench just losing it, but Kruger always stays even-keel -- even when things aren't going his way. I think this is one of the reasons that it's so rare for our guys to give up in games.
Nope.
He's tied with Tubby Smith I believe and maybe someone else as the only coaches to win a tournament game with 4 different teams. He can stand alone at 5 on that list after this year.
I had a chance to congratulate Coach on his award today before practice. He was gracious and ask me if I knew how that happened. I said maybe, but, you tell me. He said," the kids made a lot of shots down the stretch."
