Stevie Clark greaduating early?

Cracks me up that so many of you will stick up for Sawyer, yet ran cheno and grace off. Look above, Sawyer takes as many, if not more, shots at OU then those two ever did.
Agreed. At least Cheno and Grace's team didn't tuck tail and run to another conference.

Boca had just called his school a joke, I will stick up for Sawyer this time.

Having said that, I never had much of a problem with grace or cheno either, even if they were 100x more snooty than Sawyer.

And almost all of them are in direct response to one or two people.

It doesn't take a genius to recognize the pattern.

Here's the deal. Grace and Cheno are Kansas fans. They were only interested in OU when we actually posed a threat to their dynasty. Once that was gone their interest in OU was exposed as temporary.

Sawyer on the other hand is a Missouri fan. They are used to looking up and Kansas and OU, etc. So OU's recent drop has put us in their league with the infrequent opportunity to exude the upper hand.

Missouri is like little brother Okie State, they have been looking up at us for so long when they occasionally catch lightening in a bottle they come out of the woodwork.

Don't worry, Cheno and Grace will be back when OU is worthy of their attention.

Oklahoma's 60.9% all-time winning percentage really does dwarf Mizzou's 59.5% (or about +0.37 wins per year edge in OU's favor).

MU does have more conference titles. Tournament appearances, sweet 16s and elite 8s are roughly the same, as well.

I'll grant you that OU has two final fours and we have none. But in the other 100+ seasons we've been competing, the two programs have been more or less equal. I know you won't admit it, but it's true.

Can't say I disagree, when he makes uncalled for jabs like the one you referenced.

I don't understand why so many of you are in denial..he didn't mention us! The fans aren't the ones recruiting him, the coaches are. So why not just go with what the new intel says and if the coach's get him to consider us again or even come here then we can get excited about Clark again. Right now, I'm moving on. If in a week, someone else gets a quote from him and he mentions us again...I'll get back to wanting him. But to sit here and get defensive on a kid that is obviously not 'High' on us...whether he's considering us or not is just childish.

No one's in denial. Less than 24 hours before that quote you mention, he had us in his final four.

Did something happen in those 24 hours to eliminate us? Possibly. But it's equally possible his list will vary from week to week, day to day.

So most of us are just taking a wait-and-see attitude. Which is pretty much what you advise, isn't it?

Yeah, I'm not in denial either.

He "appeared" to have too much interest in us over the fall/spring, and even a day or two before the latest quote for me to just give up on him. Maybe we are 100% out of the running. If so, there is a reason for that. Maybe we backed off b/c we thought he was going to be a 2012 kid. I don't know.

Here is an excerpt from a Dave Telep ESNPInsider article posted 3 days ago from the NBPA Top 100 Camp:

"Here's a sampling of what some of the prospects at camp think about their early lists.

We asked combo guard Stevie Clark (Oklahoma City/Douglass) the question. What if it was Sept. 1? Who would you visit? "UCLA, Florida State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, and UCONN." Impressive. Clark rattled off five, the same number official visits allowed per NCAA rules. The No. 1 thing he's looking at: "Academics. My mom stresses it."

Travis Fraud just took another JUCO PG for this class....

Stevie is visiting UCLA this week.

or maybe the national writers mistook oklahoma for oklahoma state

I still say he stays close to home, and goes where his brother goes. I'm guessing OU or Mizzou.

Re: Stevie Clark graduating early?

This is just my two cents.

Clark was never as high on OU as many believed.

OSU got involved with him much earlier and are in better standing but I still wouldn't consider them a favorite.

I believe it is likely he'll be going out of state with UCLA being the top option right now.

Therein lies the difference between James Hale's report and a national media reporter who is offering an opinion about a kid he never met. Hale is quoting what Clark told him. OU reporter or not, I know who I believe.
I'd flip the script on that.

Borzello was at the NBA Top 100 camp, where Clark was MVP of the title game or something, when he got the interview.

While James Hale has likely never seen Stevie Clark play a game of basketball in his life.

Re: Stevie Clark graduating early?

UCLA and Mizzou are a little ahead of everyone. Stanford UConn and Harvard are next three. Florida St. Is in there as well with State schools bringing up the rear.. Tomorrow maybe something new.....

The No. 1 thing he's looking at: "Academics. My mom stresses it."

Well, that certainly explains his expressed interest in oswho. They're the Glassboro State College of the Plains, after all.

He is a family guy. I don't see him going all the way out West where his mom won't be able to attend many games. I still say OU or Mizzou.

In an interview today, Clark mentioned Harvard as one of the schools he's interested in. Why? Because he'd just heard from them, that's why (and, of course, their academics are stellar).

It just proves that his list is very fluid for now and likely will remain so for the foreseeable future.
