What is the real status of this?

I think it is this:

OU/Thomas requested a waiver and the NCAA asked for more information. That is, I don't think the NCAA has ever ruled. However, I think I have read some people say the NCAA denied the request and OU appealed the denial.

I also think Houston/Sampson has objected to the waiver. I think this because if Houston/Sampson was not objecting, I see no reason why the NCAA wouldn't immediately grant the waiver but I acknowledge I really don't understand how this process works. I don't care if it is Sampson, the AD, the director of basketball operations or anyone else directing the opposition. To me that is irrelevant.

If you respond and are not positive, please use language such as "I think".

I think that maybe this could have gone under one of the other TT threads

Is he allowed to play tonight since it is an exhibition?

No. He can practice with the team, but can't play in any game until his waiver is approved. If the waiver rejected, he'll have to sit the year out with a redshirt.

yeah this is BS. Coaches can just up and leave and void contracts and players are punished. The NCAA screws these kids over. I know it first hand
