Team scoring more points, but defense came first

If you haven't read the Norman Transcript article pinned to the top, it's a good read about why this team is so much better now than it was in November and December. Two things seemed to cry out for more attention in a separate thread. One is on Romero Osby, the heart and soul of this team, and the other is how Coach Kruger focused on defense early on. If that approach sounds familiar, you don't have to go back too far to find an OU coach named Kelvin Sampson who did the same thing:

“A lot of what we’re doing revolves around him garnering extra attention from the defense. He’s made better shots for everyone else because he’s been so effective. So, we’re giving it to him a lot more than we did in November.”

Defense came first

There was a process the Sooners followed to get to their current status. They won with defense early on, and continually built themselves offensively.

I'd love to see a shot distribution shot for the season, maybe split into OOC and Conference portions. At some point during the Conference season, the guys that should be shooting more, starting getting more of the shots. That is one of the couple of things that I contribute our improved offense too. Our offense has been outstanding the last 3 weeks or so.
