Tenn blew a lead

Tennessee had a lead with 15 seconds left in the game. They missed one of two free throws, but still led by three. LSU scored on a quick layup to make it 55-56 with five seconds left. LSU fouled. Mercedes Russell, the #1 HoopGurlz player of 2013, missed both free throws. Tennessee fouled LSU with three seconds left. LSU hit both free throws for a 57-56 win. ELEVEN losses for Tennessee.

Rocky Top big donors unhappy with Warlick. They have the money and tradition to get a big name coach.

Tenn has fallen out of the top 25 for the first time in 31 years. That can't make the Vol supporters very happy.

He's a good coach but he's in his mid 60's. I would think they would go after someone younger.

Yeah, they wouldn't go after him. I've seen somewhere Jeff Walz mentioned as favorite of Vol fans but I think they'd prefer a woman coach. Wonder if they would go after Sulkey? I think Tenn might be a school she'd leave Hypocrite U for. They've had downturn since Pat and she wouldn't be worried about following Pat and her kids are out of high school and out of home.

Are they one of the schools that would try to 'keep it in the family' and hire a Tennessee alum or another former assistant?

The LSU coach fits that description. I think she also was the head coach at UCLA before taking over at LSU.

I think they have and they did, by hiring Holly, but seems to have failed. I originally thought they might go after Nikki Fargas (Caldwell), who was at UCLA and now at LSU, but I'm not sure she is the answer. I don't know any other Pat proteges who might be sufficiently qualified to replace Holly, unless they ask Mickie DeMoss to come back but she's trying to help Pat's son get off the ground at La Tech, and it's slow going there.

I do think that would strongly be their preference but I just don't see many that would be better than Holly.

Even though LSU just beat UT this would not be anywhere near a decent hire. She fits if you are looking for a female from UT.
She trended upward at UCLA and got a good LSU gig. But LSU has been trending downward and are having an awful season. And since this is in the SEC, UT boosters probably don't look at her as the next great HC for UT.
