Well crap, they may have just done something smart. They are hiring the assistant who was in charge of Michigan's defense. Of course, they have issues beyond defense.

And please, don't turn this into a big complaint session about why OU couldn't make this kind of hire. :)
 
I predict Texas will actually be good this year.. They have had a hard time putting together a good team, instead doing the "recruit the best player" game... They have always lacked something, mostly shooting.. I think they have a lot of good pieces this season that looks like a competent basketball team.

Texas' problem has never been defense....at least not as of late. They've actually had one of the better halfcourt defenses in the conference under Shaka. Their problem is offense......even with all of the talent they recruit, they haven't been able to run any semblance of a consistent offense. Shaka is constantly mocked because he can't draw up good plays out of timeouts and his offensive sets rarely seem to get the ball into the hands of his best scorers.
