Capel part of another horrid loss. I love seeing him sitting on another team's bench carrying his bosses briefcase as they get dismantled by a 15 seed namen Lehigh.

Thank God the Jeff Capel OU night terror is over.:facepalm

Have fun Duke:woot

Too bad for CBS and announcers! They won't have the Dookies to slobber over for the next 3 weeks!!!

Baylor just got a pretty easy path to the final 4.

Don't be so sure. Baylor is capable of getting beat by anyone when they don't play together as a team. On paper, though, it does appear to be easier now.

LMAO - coach K said we have been out of sync. Well no kidding jeff capel is roaming the halls and dividing the locker room.

I am reveling in Duke's loss as much as the next college basketball fan, but this is a garbage thread.

Threads like this typically come after a long night of binging on Cheetos in mom's basement.

Two things I don't get about OU basketball are: 1 - why people defend Capel. He truly set this program back a long, long way; and 2 - why so many people didn't like Sampson. It is almost like the guys are treated exactly opposite of how they should be treated based on results as a head coach.

If "defending Capel" means that you don't spend the rest of your life wishing for him to fail in everything he does, I guess I'm guilty as charged. I had no problems with him being fired. However, some on here act as if he was part of a sinister plot to intentionally destroy OU basketball. I doubt that's the case.

What I mean by defending him is calling people that insult him stupid or saying he was a great recruiter or related well with the players. The guy was a bad head coach at OU. One day he will probably get a second chance and hopefully he will have learned from his time at OU and be a better coach.

I'm glad he's not here now but I don't wish him any ill will. Hopefully being there with Coach K he'll learn something so the next time he has a chance to be a coach he can go about it the right way.

What I do hate is most threads around here eventually getting taken over by the Capel trolls. They need their own forum so they can wallow in their own misery.

Capel crushed OU's basketball program. Had the 3 worst years in the last 40 and left us a nice little probation christmas package and little talent.

Lets not forget while Capel was setting all these dismal losing records game after game he was running around the state crying about fan support and padding his retirement war chest. He never once admitted his terrible failure was his fault, always deflecting blame to the players and support. Reminds me of someone else.

My 65 year old mom doesn't have a basement, this is Oklahoma silly.

Seniorsooner when become an adult and pay your own way in life you will have less patience for idiot's getting rich off others all the while complaining their dismal results are always someone elses fault.

Capel was the worst basketball coach OU has ever had.

I am a bottom line manager, his bottom line results remind me of most gov.'t run failures. Hey at least someone got rich right?

As is often the case, I'm in complete agreement with you. However, I sort of expected this thread (and ecstatic Duke lost even though Capel had zero to do with it). I remember when Kelvin lost his first game at Indiana, and it was against a mid-major. Posters came out from everywhere on OUInsider to take pleasure in the Hoosiers losing. I guess it was just Coach Capel's turn.

What's funny is those who are taking pleasure at Coach Capel's expense were probably the same group telling all those Kelvin bashers to "get a life."
