What a wonderful and deserving honor bestowed on the best freshman in NCAA history. I realize some freshmen in recent memory have put up great numbers, but they're all in a battle for second best. Can you imagine making 1st team All-American as a freshman when THESE guys were all playing college basketball? --> Michael Jordon, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Dominique Wilkins, Chris Mullin, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, Sam Perkins, Ralph Sampson and Steve Stipanovich. That list doesn't even include some recognizable freshmen - Karl Malone, Mark Price, Del Curry, Brad Daugherty, Kenny Walker and Len Bias.

Don't feel bad....it jerked a tear or two outta me too... He was a great ballplayer but everything I have seen, heard, or known indicates he was an even better person; which in my book far surpasses any basketball MVPs and Championships.
