I completely understand the frustration that the last two seasons have brought....but when OU is winning, this board is very enjoyable and can be funny, like the Neal/White Lightning fark. Here is hoping tomorrow night is as enjoyable.

Totally agree. I wish this team was better because it is a team that is very easy to cheer for. They play their butts off every night. It's too bad this fact has flown under the radar because of the win/loss record. It's not the best basketball to watch, but they leave it all on the floor.

Been telling friends all year (not all OU fans) that if last year's team had given the same effort that this year's team has, they would have been a tourney team in my honest opinion. Last year's team was a complete disaster and it may end up being Capel's undoing. Amazing how one year can negatively affect a basketball program...with some a big roster and 3 years guaranteed in the program, CFB teams are more insulated from this type of thing happening quickly

^^

Yep. It's a shame too because there was some talent on that team. Egos didn't mesh. Willie got hurt. It was over from there. I said at the beginning of the year that no matter how well he played, Cade's biggest contribution to the program will be how he teaches the young guys on this team to play hard every possession. I think that's happened. Can only benefit next year no matter who is coaching them.

good thread!! i always just try to stay positive! GREAT win last night by the guys!! everyone thought they were going to get killed & they did the killing!

Well said.

I'll take effort, heart and players who perform as if they actually like each other over the team we had last year any ol' day. I never want to see a repeat of what we went through last season. If that's what you get when you sign five star recruits, give me three and four star kids who sign to wear the C&C for all of the right reasons and I will be a lot happier.

True. The way this team has progressed that game last night may be a preview of what this team could be like next year with Blair, Clark and the rest of the guys having a year under their belts.

The most fun i had watching a game all year...Thanks Sooners!

Wait - you must not be an insider with secret info about the massive number of basketball boosters that Capel has pissed off ?

I don't know what would happen or should happen regard Capel's future. However, I too had a great time watching the game last nite. I missed the first half though. My son-in-law told me while driving home that OU was up 17 points or so at half-time. I almost had a wreck!

Jeff has had some issues - talent evaluation and keeping players seem, at least to me, the biggest problems he's had. However, for those who say his teams do not play defense are just simply full of it. He is good with the X's and O's as far as I can tell and his team looks like a team. And, since we have been repeatedly told how untalented OU is, he must be doing a pretty good job of coaching.

Our ride likely ends tonite. Texas is much better than us. Like Scott Hill prayed in a pre-game prayer years ago before a game with another big rival, Nebraska, "God please don't let the best team win today"...

Go Sooners.
