This is one of the most baffling stories I have seen come out of the OU program in some time.

1st questions in my mind? Who isn't playing hard all the time and how is that judged?

Morgan makes her share of bone-headed, asleep-at-the-wheel passes and decisions. Ellenberg has never been a lights out defensive player. Kay-Kay can't keep from fouling and has worked her way into bench minutes. Goya can't keep from fouling. Kornet, who knows what's going on with that girl? Griffin is either having a solid game or sleep walking.

Only Sharane seems to bring her A game and busts her hump every second as far as I can see.

Morgan asks, what does Sherri want of her? Perhaps it is being a little tougher on your teammates and kicking them in their butts verbally sometime and, maybe it's her way of telling Morgan not to check out on her passing.

I really don't know what to think. There should be plenty of fired-up effective senior leadership on this team. Maybe there's just always been too much kumbaya going on.

I don't have any idea what's going on with this team this year. Do any of you really? Does Sherri? What is she doing to fix "it" whatever it is.

Crazy.

I have a couple of thoughts:

No one ever plays at their best on every single play, every single game. It's impossible. The veteran players from last year knew knew that due to their injury situation last year, they had no choice but to give it their best as close to 100% of the time as they could. They had no option. Perhaps they are subconsiously missing that intensity since there is a deeper bench this year.

Also, they started the year playing at a pretty high level, which isn't always common for teams. Usually, they build up to playing at a high level. If you lose that, for what ever reason, it can be difficult to get it back.

I have seen this during games and as I have recorded all that are televised I can go and tell it by what I see. The biggest one lately that comes to mind is when the Iowa St guard drove the full length of the court for a layup with around 6 seconds or so to go. That should never happen and if it does the seniors should be chewing on someone's butt. That is something I don't see as we did with Whitney is someone stepping up and being vocal when it is required. this team in my mind does not have a leader.

This is what I got out of this story. There is no leader. I think Morgan tries to be one but for some reason she is not. Sometimes I wonder if her dating Colton is really good for the team? He says some things on the radio (which he probably should) that could very well rub some folks the wrong way!

I'll only add one thing. Freshman are famous, or should I say infamous, for thinking that they are giving 100% effort when they actually aren't. I'm not talking about anyone in particular. I've seen lots of players, men and women, comment about it.

Well, leadership can be defined in numerous ways. This team has lost two overtime games to highly ranked quality programs. I don't know that 'leadership' could have changed the outcome of either of those games.

I do believe that Morgan has played as well or better than anyone we have this year and that has to be worth a lot.

I could think of about a hundred other questions I wished the writer would have asked. This was just enough to make you scratch your head and say, "What?"
