@HoopReview: I'm hearing Oklahoma Sooners are in the mix for Deandre Ayton now along with Michael Porter and Trae Young...

Ayton is the #1 prospect in the 2017 class [See Highlights below]. He is also from the Bahamas.

Now, I'm the most skeptical/pessimistic guy out there when it comes to OU having nice things. I'm a see-it-to-believe-it guy. But a class of Ayton/Young/Porter could very well be the best class in the nation IF it happened.

He certainly didn't have a history of it before getting to OU.

Just goes to show how "big" the OU name/brand is, IMO. Not that LK doesn't deserve credit, or the assistants, but it's no coincidence that LK and staff have recruited better at OU than any of his previous stops.

At Illinois, Kruger signed three consecutive Illinois Mr. Basketballs--Sergio McClain, Frank Williams (McAA, first-round pick), and Brian Cook (McAA, first-round pick)--and an additional McAA (Marcus Griffin) over a three-year period. He left Self some really good talent.

In an interview with Lon's wife I saw the final 4 week, she said the attraction to the OU job, (even though they had just built a dream house in LV and loved living there) was the OU brand and the pull it had in recruiting. She said both Lon and her felt OU was a place they could make one more run to a Final 4. I don't think either of them envisioned it happening in year 5 so now I wouldn't be surprised if they think they can win an NC.

If this is true, then I don't see why we wouldn't have a legit shot. He's only being recruited by one school and if he's not impressed by Kentucky then going to a blue blood must not mean that much to him. He's going to the NBA no matter where he goes, so why not here?

He is originally from the Bahamas, yes? Buddy needs to hit him up!

Ayton, Porter and Young in one class? I like to dream big, because dreaming small is not nearly as much fun. :OUbball-logo:

Someone responded to the tweet saying something along the lines of "even 2 of the 3 would be great." The Hoopreview account replied back:

"@KevinHead1 I believe they are capable , I'm hearing it's in the works"

Really would be incredible! :lon

When I read that he was from there and he talked about buddy, it just seemed like a no brainer that we would have a shot at him. If we recruit him, I would be shocked if we didn't land him.
