Going into the season I thought he would be another ace mcghee, but he's nowhere close to that. He is a very average big 12 player

The guy is excellent, the problem has been involving him offensively. I feel for him, he made a huge mistake transferring. You have to think Kelvin would be getting more out of him.

I think the increase in talent from this league to his previous league has something to do with his recent struggles. Hopefully they can find a way to get him going offensively.

He is far from "very average". Are you just going down the roster and starting threads to rip on every player?? We got beat tonight. We all saw it...and I think a lot of other teams are going to have problems winning there too. This league is good...and it looks like the teams will just beat each other up to the point where our highest ranked team will be in the mid teens.

He was our best option to break the press tonight.

Eh, Kansas will win 14 games I think and end in the top 10

Outside of heild and a little bit cousins, this roster is average. Especially the bench. We will be lucky to finish in the top half of the league.

You're crazy he's plenty good - full court up and down isn't his strong suit but calling him a average ?

I "love" these guys that come out of the woodwork and start multiple negative threads when OU loses and are quiet as a mouse when OU is winning. I smell a troll.

His problem is we don't have ONE guard that can make a pass in a half court offense.

Woodard and the others are good in transition but are horrible in a half court offense. We should just run and gun with this group of guards , they can see a passing lane to save their lives.

Our assists the last two games has been HORRIBLE.

LOL average?! Kid is a stud he can handle the ball and score from multiple levels. I'm not sure what type of system Houston runs but I'm willing to bet Thomas got a lot more scoring opportunities which explains his dip in ppg. The few games we've made a real effort to establish him he's had a lot of success... We will be fine we just need to get the intensity back up!

A 20 point loss should be plenty of motivation. I'm excited to see how we come out next game.

That's funny, because I smell a d-bag. They must smell similar. :-)

There are clowns and there are trolls. In this thread the trolls are wearing clown noses.

His previous league (AAC) was plenty good last year. They played UConn twice who was the NCAA champ (beat them once), and Louisville 3 times who was #5. The top 4 AAC teams averaged 29 wins and 8 losses on the season and fared better than the Big 12 did in the post-season. In the NCAA tournament their 4 teams went 9-3 and the 7 Big 12 teams went 6-7. Their 5th best team, SMU, came in 2nd in the NIT. IMHO the Big 12 was deep last year but was overrated. The end of the year results seem to verify that opinion.

Thomas had to handle the ball and drive from the top of the key for all his baskets last night. Our guards were so far from the basket when we were in a half court set, they couldn't make an entry pass to the low post. Thomas had to go get the ball if he wanted it.

Thomas was the least of our problems against WVU, although nobody on the Sooners had a really good game.

I never thought he'd be Ace, or the 1st Team All-Big 12 that some thought he'd be, but I thought he'd be tougher inside than he has been. Three rebounds is all he grabbed last night. That is not good. Also seems to miss a lot of easy shots, after good moves/drives.

But he isn't the main reason we're losing games we shouldn't be losing.

Thomas is second in the conference in field goal percentage. He is 15th in rebounding on a team with excellent rebounding from its guards and Spangler. He is 16th in scoring on a team with two of the top ten scorers in the conference.

It seems to me a lot of people expect all players to be like Blake Griffin, Ryan Minor, Stacey King, etc. Those guys are rare.

OU just needs to win on Saturday so the fans can calm down.

He's better than I expected, better dribbler, better passer and very smart on shot selection. He may not be Ace McGhee but he's almost exactly Romero Osby. He's a smart player and once he gets past the tendency to defer to his teammates, he can take over a game.

If I were Lon, I'd double TTs touches.
