the Lakers have to be careful trading him to western teams that want him like Houston & Minnesota who might improve enough to stay ahead of them in the playoff race.

His +/- is getting worse and D'Antoni has no choice but to bench him after they get down 15+ and they have shown a consistent ability to dig out of the hole once he's out.

Toronto loves the international flavor and has some interesting pieces in Landry Fields, Mickael Pietrus & Linas Kleiza. All of those guys can shoot the 3 and Fields played very well for D'Antoni with the Knicks.

Howard is starting to come around a little. Jordan Hill has put in better minutes than Gasol and Metta can play the 4. Time to do something because there isn't room for 2 paint clogging bigs in this system.

Has anyone seen Stephen A's comments on the Gasol/D'Antoni situation? He says Gasol is totally being misused, and that his game isn't 15-20 jumpers and 3 point shots. Very interesting to me...

The sad thing about the Lakers is that they just aren't getting enough production from Hill to really warrant this His +/- stats aren't a lot better and he's not going to put up the points that Gasol can. The Lakers just have overall team issues. They don't get a lot of production out of anyone that's not the big 5 guys. And Nash being out a while didn't help.

It maybe would have been easier if they hired a coach to fit their personnel.

Bingo!!!!!

And Nick, Hill & Meeks have both played decent ball off the bench. They both play high minutes because they both can keep up in D'Antoni's system.

Watching the Lakers try and be up tempo jump shooters is hard. I don't care if they bring Gasol off the bench, but please sit him down on a block and let him do what he has done best for his entire career, use his wide array of post moves and his height to score.

Watching Gasol playing on the perimeter is laughable. D'Antoni IMO, is no better than Brown would have been. If he thinks LA will make any playoff noise with the current system/rotation, Kobe must be going to turn 25 by playoff time. It's not working..... Kobe is having to work very hard to put 30 a night, and keep them in games OFFENSIVELY.......

Don't get me started on the defense. If they are hell bent on using this current system, then they need to trade Gasol and get some athletic wing players who aren't close to 40........

.......And another home loss tonight, this time to the Nuggets. Same old story, another mid level PG looks like a star against the Laker defense. Kobe with all of the points in the 4th, no rebounding, Denver with 50 lay ups in the game.

Lawson & Miller 21 assists, zero turnovers.

PG's who have torched the Lakers: Felton, Lawson, Miller, Lilliard,Kemba Walker, Kyrie Irving, Linn, etc...

I won't even mention Westbrook, CP3, or Parker

Time to BLOW IT UP & START OVER.......

Their playoff chances shrink with every loss Jmizzy.

Yep. Time to blow it up. Better unload Gasol before D'Antoni erases what value he has left, trying to use him as a stretch 4, with bad knees, limited range, no lift anymore, and sinking confidence.

I appreciate what Gasol has done in LA. Without him LA wins nothing after Shaq left. It's time for changes. LA needs to get more athletic, at least 2 competent defenders on the perimeter, and someone who can create their own shot.

Big Game James Worthy talked angrily about it after the game tonight. He said people get mad at Kobe for shooting 26 times, but he is the ONLY Laker who can get his own shot without any help. Late in games when the defense is stiff, he is the only one who can go get a bucket as the shot clock expires.

Howard can't hit a FT so they foul him, and Nash is usally spent from chasing younger, quicker PG's who have had a career night scoring & passing, with no turnovers.

I'm not a stat guy but I would love to see all of PG's LA has faced this yr, and how many TO's they had against LA, as opposed to the rest of their games. Andre Miller and Lawson had 21 combined assists, with 0000000 TO's. That is the result of absolutely no defensive pressure from the PG spot.

The list is growing of PG's who did what they wanted, when they wanted against the Laker D. The rest of the defenders are not good enough to help Nash like he needs to be helped, so each time a PG ventures into the lane, it causes a defensive breakdown, leading to open 3's, offensive rebounds, and easy passes for dunks & lay ups........

I could go on with the bad, but everyone sees it. Not a playoff team at this point, which might be better than getting into the 1st round, to be swept by OKC or LA, or even Memphis......

still some seats available when they change the floor to red and blue.

Toronto supposedly offered Calderon & Bargnani for Gasol back in December and the Lakers said no.

In the last 3 games when Nash is in the lakers are +18, when he is out they are -34. His total +/- in those 3 games is better than Holiday, Paul & Lawson.

They Lakers need a better backup PG and better bench. Gasol is the only asset you can deal to get there. It will happen soon.

They can play Nash 40 minutes a night, and it won't matter because opposing PG's are eating the Lakers interior defense.

Kobe is not as active defensively, and he gives up too many dribble drives as well. MWP can't keep elite scorers in front of him anymore. D'Antoni has no clue what he has, and how to use them.

They gotta blow it up and add the RIGHT pieces. The excuses are running out of time, and they will still be talking about what COULD have been when the top 8 teams are battling in the playoffs....

It doesn't matter if you can score 108 pts, when you give up 128....... Every other teams PG's love playing LA, and it doesn't matter who is on the floor at the PG position for LA. They all suck big time on defense.

heck, old Fisher would at least knock the heck out of someone before he let them waltz through the lane for 50 lay ups in one game.

Just say that slowly.... DENVER SHOT 50 LAYUPS!!!!!!!!!!!

They have some offers for Gasol, but his stock is dropping after each loss.....

Gasol & Howard out indefinitely. Would be funny if they started playing better without both of them.

not saying that I disagree with you Mizz, but watch Denver play sometime against another team. They always shoot 50 layups. they lead the league in "pts in the paint". that's their game.

LA's lumbersome jaunts up the court certainly aid that, but there's more to it.

You are probably right..... It just hurts to see EVERY team use the same recipe and it works.

Now they are saying Howard and Kobe had a near fight after the Philly loss, and Howard had to be restrained.

Laker brass is trying to say it didn't happen. We shall see. Kobe doesn't play well with other kids, and Howard is the type who would challenge his authority in LA, something gasol never did, and nash probably wouldn't. Howard is similar to Shaq on stuff like that, IMO>>>>>>

Did Dwight try to steal the toy in the sandbox?

Ask Steve Kerr what happened when he tried to steal MJ's toy.

Another loss for the Lakers. But the Lakers just had nobody inside with Hill, Howard, and Gasol all out. Rockets have been the best offense in the NBA the last couple weeks though. It doesn't get any easier for the Lakers with the Thunder coming up.

I think the Lakers should trade Howard for a couple young athletes. They are better without him right now. If they are all in with D'antoni system, then go all in.
