Trae Young visiting today

Gotta get him on campus when more is going on too. Let him see the football atmosphere.

Trae has lived in Norman his whole life. I'm sure he is very aware of the atmosphere in Norman on football game days. I also believe this isn't his first unofficial visit, nor will it be his last. The team is probably practicing today.

His father is Rayford Young who was an all-conference level B12 player at Texas Tech averaging over 14 ppg for his 4 years ('96-2000). He played for James Dickey who is a former U of Houston head coach and on his 2nd stint as an OSU assistant. Dad is probably giving Trae some advice.

Rayford Young was entering his junior season when he had to tell former Texas Tech men’s basketball coach James Dickey the news: Young was going to be a father..... to Trae

Trae Young's Teammate is the son of Crutchfield. He also plays with one of Bob Stoop's sons. He was a ballboy at OU as well. The thing that could hurt OU with him is too much familiarity.

He will also be aware of bad crowds for OU basketball games.

If porter and young are 100% playing together... OU has slim slim chances.

UK offered young a couple days ago. He can now go anywhere in the country.

Given that he goes to high school in Norman it is hard for me to believe he is not extremely familiar with the football atmosphere.

Since EVERYBODY keeps making this comment, I'll clarify.

Going to the games as a fan, if he even has, isn't the same as going to the game as a prospective athlete. He'll get much more out of the experience if he is taking an official or unofficial visit on gameday, which I don't believe has happened.

Just read a tweet that said there's a chance Trae is transferring to a prep school for his senior season

He's been offered by every school in America. Easily can become a MCAA at NN. Selfish or scared of not winning it all when you are suppose to in Oklahoma.

That seems harsh to say he is selfish or scared. Do you know the kid or his family? To me that seems like a shot at a child.

I think adults should cut him (and all kids) some slack, especially when he has not done anything wrong. It would be one thing if the rumor was he was dealing drugs, had sexually assaulted a woman, or was involved in academic misconduct. This rumor is that he is simply considering transferring to a prep school. Maybe he thinks he will get better coaching. Maybe he wants to experience another part of the country. There could be any number of reasons he would consider doing this that do not remotely involve being selfish or scared. Additionally, to leave home at 17 and move a long distance from your parents doesn't really seem like the actions of someone that is scared. It seems to me that takes some courage and commitment.

When I was his age, I made average grades (when I should have made excellent grades based on my abilities), did not participate in school activities and was not very productive. I was drinking and bordering on trouble. Trae seems like he has his act together a lot better than I did at that age. I admire the young man and wish him well.

Amen, brother.

I've never understood the posting style of anonymously taking shots at high school players (and coaches for that matter).

Nor do I comprehend the willy-nilly posting of dubious recruiting info and broadcasting it to the masses as though it is gospel.
