Trae Young visiting today

What does he gain from prep school? 6a basketball he'll see d1 athletes every week.

In Oklahoma? Surely you jest.

But maybe he just wants to be somewhere else. Maybe he is hunting an offer from a certain school, and thinks prep exposure might get him that offer.

For someone that claims to be "in the know" on Oklahoma HS hoops, you sure post a lot of stuff that I'd argue is nothing more than your opinion or street gossip, and try to pass it off as fact.

Lol.

Chasing an offer? He HS Duke and UK. He can go anywhere he wants.

What have I posted that is street gossip? Of course some things are my opinion: this is a message board.

Oh Lordy... Wussification of America continues.

How is being kind and compassionate the wussification of America? I am not suggesting everyone gets a trophy, everyone makes the team, being PC or anything like that. I am simply saying calling a 17 year old selfish or scared on a public forum with no real basis, is inappropriate in my opinion.

+1

I'll refrain from posting. Carry on since I know nothing. Leave it to you experts.

Come on guys. We need all of our posters. This board is about discussing different opinions and perspectives. None of these comments are meant to be personal. We may not agree with each other, but let's show some respect.

I agree...and also appreciate the posts by CoachTalk.

Read a little, I'm not the only one that thinks this...

You think playing at Norman North he will face better competition on a nightly basis than going to a national power prep school?

He would face better competition if he moved to a public school in Dallas. Oklahoma basketball is competitive, but lets not act like it is Southern California.

Appreciate information as well, but this isn't that. It's an example of the jealous/envious HS coach gossip that circulates in the profession. It's no different at the collegiate level.

Kid wants to challenge himself nationally, he has been given the means to potentially play professionally in a couple years. Wish the kid luck and be happy for him.

Isn't it completely normal for elite players to switch to prep schools to play against/with elite players? Seems par for the course to me. If he's got a Duke & UK offer he should probably switch to a prep school where that type of talent resides.

So now I'm known for street gossip, being envious, and jealous.

Tough crowd. You guys have no clue about HS, prep, private schools... Etc..

You can pretend and judge all you want...

Tell me what you guys do for a living.

Attacking the board by saying they know nothing and questioning their professions...allllllways a good direction to go...

Simply asking what they do for a living. Was going to make a point. Thanks for your insight. I can handle myself.

I'd like to be called out any gossip. Question me all you want, my info is solid. From the beginning... No need to make a list. My info speaks for itself.

This petty back and forth gibberish needs to stop. There are no winners when posters who are supposed to be friends get involved in a nonsensical debate about nothing that really matters in the overall scheme of things.

I'll give my two cents about prep schools for whatever it's worth. Maybe nothing. Some are good and some are not so good. But the prep schools that Trae is thought to have an interest in, Findlay Prep in Las Vegas and Monteverde Christian Academy in Orlando, Fla. have historically been ranked among the best high school basketball programs in the country for as long as I can remember. Personally, I can see why he might want to transfer. There should be no doubt that he will play with and against some of the best talent in the country if he transfers to one of those schools.

The downside, of course, is that Trae could be a small fish in a big pond with the kind of competition he'll face for playing time. He'll be the man at Norman North. Will he be there? I have no idea, but his chances at Findlay and Monteverde Christian won't be nearly as good as if he would stay home and play at NN this fall.
