Trae's Draft projection

I think he goes 10-14, his passing & decision making have surprised me the most. I think his size, athleticism, & lack of defensive potential keep him out of the 1st half of the lottery.

6-2 is enough size for a PG. He will score at will at the next level too. You can't stop an offensive player with the skills he possesses.

You just listed Steph curry intangibles. No one cares about defensive potential

The Ringer does really good NBA draft coverage, although they haven't produced anything yet this year.

Curry is taller, longer & more athletic. Also I'm sure every NBA team & coach care about defense. I think Young will be a really good NBA player but I believe he is bottom part of the lottery bc of his tangibles.

Have you watched the NBA defense...?

Yes, unless you are a superstar then the other 9 guys that play do play defense. On the really good teams then everyone plays defense. Unless Trae can go in and average 25 then he'll need to play defense or at least try.

Curry is probably an inch taller and that's about it. I think Trae might have more speed honestly so I'd call athleticism a wash at worst. Trae'a frame is larger than Curry's, too. He already looks stronger than curry looked as a junior.

Curry is legit 6'3, Young is 6'1 at most. Young's speed is really good but Curry can explode better. But I'm not talking about Young as an NBA player, I'm talking about where he'll get drafted & why I think he'll be later half of lottery. Which at the beginning of the year I don't think anyone thought he'd be.

Currys listed at 6-3 and Trae at 6-2. I will guarantee he's drafted top half of lottery if he's healthy.

Curry is listed that bc that's what the combine said, Young is listed that by the team. He might be 6'2 but I doubt it. I hope you're right on top half of lottery.

Curry measured 6’ 2” even at the combine.

NBA heights are usually the “shoe” height. No clue why. Though I imagine OU does also.

NFL uses real height.

i would take him at 3 and run out of the draft room like i am about to get caught for grand larceny.

I remember all the debate before the Sixers took Iverson. He was barely listed at 6 ft and he'd been to prison. Heck, they wouldnt even take the goat from NYC in late rounds. But after the draft all of the NBA scouts said rare talent is always the trump. And Trae is a better scorer than AI.

AI was a better athlete. He was still around in a period when big men still ruled a bit. But was still able to get inside and score on people. He was a 28 ppg scorer at 6' even for 11 years as a 31% 3 point shooter. Dude was a freak athletically. I don't know if Trae is a better scorer than AI but he's more skilled. Totally different players IMO. Trae is more or less like a mix of Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving.

0% chance he does not go pro.

Best college basketball player of all time so far.
