This group does have me interested. I have been impressed by what I've seen of Derica and Shaya on the internet. I think Shaya and Moncrief were the two best AAU players that I saw. Derica has the ability to think fast when she gets the ball in traffic, and her stroke is awesome. They are very much underrated. Makes me appreciate Sherri.

Maddie could end up as the most exciting player in OU history. If she is back, we have a threat to take the pressure off of Vegas.

I hope that Kaylon is back. We will need rebounding. If we have that, we should be able to contend with about anyone.

I haven't seen Gioya, but others seem to be impressed by her.

I'm also intrigued (and more than a bit excited) to see what this group can do as a group on the court. I've been researching them a bit, and a number of things stand out, simply on the basis of the intuition developed in what is now my 15th year as a fan of this program.

I've been cheering as a fan of the team through every Final Four and all but one of OU's Sweet Sixteens. What stands out to me other than the obvious qualifications, is the fascinating blend of various talents in a team of real potential, both in solid, proven starters; newcomers with a whole variety of talents; and (laugh now, I may get the last one) the sheer look of this team.

I smell success. The potential is there for a formidable squad that could become the nut that's impossible to crack.

Much much stranger things have happened. After a refreshing summer with invaluable experience working with top-notch coaches like Brian Giorgis and Coquese Washington, there is a feeling of cool, clean air - an air of optimism in Soonerland.

It's there. Soon we'll see if my optimism is unfounded, but I don't think so.

Not at all.

I'd love to get the same kind of report on KK. I think rebounding will be our biggest weakness/need and I havent heard anything on how her hamstring rehab is going. I only know that such an injury isnt easy to get over and may take a long time to recover from.

I thought it was an achilles tendon complete tear.

BIG difference.

It was. Think she is back in the gym. Don't know if she's 100 percent. I kinda doubt it.
