Transfer Portal 2025

This guy should get all the NIL ... if we can swing and hit on him, holy yes please. I will pay for Moser's extension.

Wow lot of green with Cluff. I wonder how tanner's seasons at EWU would have compared to cluff however. Whoever our big man ends up being, we have to hit on them.

I'd prolly be fine with only 1 5 man, if wague comes back since he's figuring it all out now + Kai rogers.

Can't believe the company that is talking to Dix. Sounds like he'll prolly be out. Based on your chart, Moore not interested in unless mega cheap.

Which is better a mid-major player or lower who has better than average stats or someone off a really good team who is say a 8 or 9 point a game player?
Shouldn't the competition that a portal player competed against be taken into consideration?
Tanner got his bucks off that great game against Kansas, otherwise he might not have provoked as much interest.

I try to interpret that, (again crudely), by taking the KenPom finish of the team into account. If they are a stat stuffer, but on a 300+ team, they get a .7 multiplier to their final score to show their relative value to team success.

I should/could try to add in SOS, but team finish and efficiency made sense to me. I am open to ideas and suggestions.

Have there been any Sooners announce for the portal yet? Are we expecting any? (Sorry if this has been covered already. I'm too lazy to scroll through hundreds of posts pissing and moaning about Moser.)
Only one we are aware of is Jadon Jones who is on Trilly's discord as a portal watch.

No official announcement has been made.

It is also safe to assume Jeremiah Fears will not be back and going pro.

What an absolutely bizarre OU ‘career’ for Jones.

Might be my personal opinion… but would much rather prefer someone from a high-major team that has average stats.

For one, most of the mid-major players we have gotten from the portal haven’t worked out for us, really none at all to be honest.

Second, take a guy like Jalon Moore for example, was on a high-major team, but didn’t have the opportunities. He has worked out pretty well I would say. Another example could be Mo Wague. While he wasn’t the best player by no means, he was able to be a solid backup and contribute.

Jones could have really helped this year. But, herniated disks stay problematic forever and typically just get worse (unless there is a successful surgery). Unless he has a complete recovery and is given a full clear bill of health, I would want OU to move on from Jones.

Just watching the SEC this year and the NCAA tourney, I definitely think we need a little size on the perimeter at guard/wing. So, hopefully we are targeting some "wing" types. If Wague comes back, and I hope he does, and Rogers makes it in, then I am with Coachtalk that we probably only need one legit post player out of the portal. Might be all we can afford. We argue over NIL all the time and none of us really know what is going on there. I also really like the film on the 7 foot foreign kid. Don't know if he will be ready to contribute next year, but his film would suggest he might be our best foreign kid to date. Luke is never going to be the strong post presence that we need, but he is improving and played pretty well in spurts. If Duke can return, I hope they can keep him. Love Dayton and think a lot more of Atak than most on here. Really hope we can keep him. If the House settlement goes through, maybe the revenue sharing will help us out.

You don't give up on a guy like Atak after one year unless there are underlying issues we don't know about.

Needs to head back down to a mid major.

But maybe there's a desperate P4 that'll take him. Good kid, fought hard, but is/was a bit overmatched.
He would be a nice guy off the bench. Sixth man type. But maybe he knows he’ll he recruited over and will head back down to a smaller school. Maybe he wants to be the main guy.
