Transfer Romero Osby ready for a fresh start >>> OUHoops.com

Thanks for an informative and interesting profile piece. Better than anything out of our major newspapers in a month.

Nice piece. Sounds as though Romero has his head on straight and is ready to work hard. It'll be fun to watch him progress.

Man I wish we could use him this coming season. His highlights sure show a ton of potential. Glad he is on board.

Terrific job, Greg!

Osby is a recruit I wanted two years ago when Rod Barnes was an assistant. I have no idea why things didn't work out for him at MSU? But their loss is our gain as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't take a trained basketball eye to see the athleticism, hops and huge upside this kid will bring to the floor when he's eligible to play in the 2010-2011 season. I'm thrilled to finally see Romero in a Sooner uniform!

Great article and he really seems like a good kid. Great addition for this program.

Transfers sometimes mature a bunch after their redshirt year. Not always but enough times to get you excited. Examples coming to mind are Wesley Johnson at Syracuse, David Little at OU, Brent Price at OU, Jabahri Brown at OU, Jordan Crawford at Xavier, Jerad Haase from Northwestern to Kansas, the Graham twins at OSU. A lot of times the year layoff is beneficial. We'll see how Seth Curry does at Duke this coming year and if Osby gets stronger during his redshirt, he'll be a monster.

I'd add Drew Lavender at Xavier to that list. Completely different player than when he was at OU.

Great post. Hopefully, Osby will do like some of the names that you mentioned.

Agreed. Osby has the tools to make a great impact like the names you mentioned. Haase came to KU from California though. He started next to Jason Kidd a year. You were probably thinking of Rex Walters from Northwestern.

Rex Walters, of course. Both were contributors.
