UCONN and ND recruiting

Uconn can recruit everywhere, because of the level there program has reached... I'd say Muffet McGraw other then getting Turner has locked down her state and a few states around it... The talent Pool in Oklahoma doesn't seem that deep... if OU is going to get back to where they need to be Sherri need to keep getting the Dungee's and Llanusa's and then try and get some top 25 talent from the State of Texas... this sure is nice to see..

Look at the talent that has left the state? Oklahoma talent pool is very deep especially within these upcoming years, I just think if we owned our state in re recruiting the way ND, SC, Baylor has, it could be us playing for the natl title right about now.

It is pretty amazing that we have Dungee, Johnson, Wilson, and Llanusa in the state in the 2016 and 2017 classes. We don't see that kind of talent in the state that close together very often. Franks is a good player as well.

Exactly who have we lost out of state that is winning a title for someone?

The only player I would love to have at OU from the state we missed out on would be C walker at A&M... Washington UNC liked OU at one time, but she would't start at OU...

Something hasn't been said about the Walker deal, and we can live without her. We never hear Sherri's version.

Want to watch a good game? Watch how these two teams move without the ball. I love watching Stewart. If she only averaged eight points per game, she would be a key figure in any game. She constantly works to get open. She finds the open man. Her long arms seem to dominate the area around the basket. Whether on the inside or the perimeter, she has an effect.

At halftime, nobody is shooting well. ND at 30%. UConn at 38%. ND's 13 turnovers have them behind UConn who only has 8. ND actually leading on the boards, but they can't score inside because of the UConn defense. Stewart with three blocks and eight rebounds has been the difference in the game.

You heard Geno say that they had gotten away from moving and were just standing around and going inside first. Then Jefferson and Tuck got open threes and Stokes got the lay up. It also helps they don't care who shoots.

Both teams are playing very good defense. You don't usually see so many athletes like this on the court at once.

Has anyone else noticed how much UCONN's Mariah Jefferson,#4, resembles Nina Davis? Both her body shape & size and even her face. Interesting.

Yep. The quiet assassin.

I wonder if that girl in all black on the UConn bench is a player. She's huge

Watching UCONN win another NC certainly was not a surprise. I do think next year S. Carolina will be better prepared to make a run for the #1 spot.

Let's see. UConn plays six for the most part, two of whom graduate. At worst, Butler is a replacement for Stokes, maybe for Dolson who left last year. With Tuck, Jefferson, Nurse, and Stewart coming back, they don't need a lot. But, then, they did have three McDonald All-Americans, two of whom are shooting forwards to replace Mosquedo-Lewis.

I thought Stewart was the player of the game, but Jefferson was second. ND dominated the inside with the exception of those 15 rebounds and four blocked shots.

South Carolina Front court was really impressive this year the scary part is they will be even better next year.

South Carolina will miss Welch more than they think. UConn and ND have so many great players returning:

ND
Turner
Reimer
Loyd
Mabrey
Allen
Huffman
To go with three McDonald's All-American recruits

UConn
Stewart
Jefferson
Tuck
Nurse
Chong and Williams still there as reserves
Butlet at Post
Samuelson, Boykin, and Collier coming in at F.

They will still be the teams to beat.

Geno doesn't start freshman, but I'm sure he's telling Cox she could almost step right in at the 4 when Stewart leaves...

He started Stewart, Jefferson, Hartley, and Moore as freshmen. Curiously, if Samuelson, Tuck, Collier, Butler, and Boykin work out, there isn't any room for a freshman in that group. He needs a guard, not a forward.
