vs. Baylor

No rain. Nice weather.

Final 5-2 as they got a two-run HR in the sixth. They out hit us 8-5. We did hit the ball hard a few times only to have it caught. But, Baylor isn't going away lightly. We aren't helping ourselves with our pursuit of the rise.

Well, we won a game in which they outhit our kids, but, thanks to some 1st inning wildness on Stearns' part (hit two batters) we were able to jump on them early.

Stearns seemed to get stronger as the game went along, and Paige was scattering hits in the late going, but was able to come away with the W.

Now, let's run-rule them tomorrow!

So what do you think? Stearns again tomorrow vs Parker? Or do we start Shelby with Parker for relief if needed?

I think we are taking this seriously. Stearns and Parker start. I thought Parker was tiring at the end. Stearns wasn't. There is room for concern. Of course, they might both recover sufficiently overnight. But, we have to quit swinging at the rise. Baylor is hitting smarter than we are.

Paige didnt start out as sharp as I would like but she really responded when we got her some runs. She did tire, especially the last two innings. I think she'll start with Patty watching her closely for signs of weakness then Shelby will come in. I'm laying odds that Lauren will get her 90th tomorrow. She finally got some wood, however small , on the ball today and tomorrow she'll get a LOT more.

Paige has pitched superbly until Thursday night. Last night she still wasnt as sharp as she has been. She's a freshman and, as well as she has done, I would not be surprised if she were getting just a bit tired. It would surprise me if she werent.

I think Shelby starts followed by Kelsey followed by Paige if necessary. Hope to win and get the cushion.

YESSS! Pendley loses one, followed by Erin jumping on the first pitch over the fence, too!

Now, if we could just get Lauren untracked...

I hope that these runners we are stranding the last couple innings do not come back to haunt us. Left bases loaded second inning, then 2 on last inning

For those unable to watch the game, OU leads 3-2 going into the bottom of the 4th inning.

Chamberlain hits 2-run home run. Ties HR record.

OU leads 5-2 and still batting in the bottom of the 4th.
