I'm just not a big fan of Dinjiyl Walker. He can shoot but other than that I just don't see any upside with him.

He's not a great ballhandler and he makes poor decisions. I'm hoping James can take some of his PT.

Why would you post this? He is a nice role player that plays on what might be the best team in the country. He'd start or have a bigger role on a lot of other teams.

He's a good shooter & a bull in the lane, he also plays solid defense. Couldn't ask for a much better player for 10 mins a game.

Yeah I disagree. Out of control at times but he knows his role and does good things for this team.

Today he was a liability and the same for the game at KU. He's been a decent spot player but has limitations.

It's nothing personal against the guy, I just think if this team wants to get where we want it to be we need James or another guard to take Walker's minutes.

Yep. Sometimes a little over aggressive taking the ball to the hoop but he brings good energy. And often will hit a big 3.

It's clear he's been our best bench player. He shoots well from beyond the arc, drives fairly well, rarely has a defensive lapse, and isn't prone to turnovers. You couldn't ask for more for a bench guard getting limited minutes. If someone isn't a fan of him it's because of their own misguided notions.

He may be fairly one-dimensional, but he's definitely an asset. We're not getting much bench help, so we definitely need him. Last year, every time he was about to shoot, I would cringe. This year, I'm confident his shot will go down. That type of improvement is all we can reasonably expect.

Unless he is a starter, I'm not sure the point in criticizing his play. James is not as good yet. However, I think James next year will be better than Walker this year, so we'll get a bench production upgrade if James doesn't start.

He's a Senior, so he won't ship block any major recruits going forward.

No harm no foul.

Its a team game and this team is #1, everyone is helping even practice players. If they had 5 loses and were not ranked I would be inclined to be critical but for now I see the forest more than the trees.

Yesterday wasn't one of Walker's best games, but he's doing exactly what he's supposed to do. He's improved his play since last year. He and James are competing and making each other better.

I thought the subs who played yesterday did very well. It was great experience for them.

I won't opine on how great a ballhandler he is or isn't, but he might be the second best one on our team.

As for James, I like his potential, but until he starts shooting the ball better, we have to play Walker over him most of the time.

Walker can be a little reckless with the ball and driving to the hoop, but he is a nice bench player that provides rest for our guards. I try not to expect too much out of him though.

Walker is playing a lot better this season compared to 2014-2015. I do admit his 3-point shooting has surprised me by how much better it is. My only issue is sometimes he is too anxious to take a shot. He's kind of like the Will Rogers of the basketball court..... He has never met a shot he didn't like.

He's playing OK. Especially for a backup.

Sometimes he can take it to the rim and score pretty tough looks. Sometimes he forces it tho

I agree, he can shoot pretty good. He's usually good for a big 3 when we need it and provided one yesterday and some games he scores more than 1.

I noticed in both the KU and WVU games his minutes weren't quality minutes. Yes, he had the 3, but late in the game when we had the lead and WVU was coming back (or maybe when WVU took the lead) he had a turnover and then a bad foul. After that LK took him out. That's what I mean, we need him and all of our subs to have quality minutes when in the game. Other than the shot yesterday I didn't think his minutes were quality.

It seems against better competition he's not as good as against lesser competition. Some of that is expected but remember Daryan Selvy? When he entered the game he almost always had a positive impact as a sub. The same for David Godbold when he was a sub.

This is why I think it's imperative that James or maybe Odomes though Odomes hasn't played much lately can steal some of Walker's minutes. Just my opinion and it's nothing personal against Walker. He's a good kid, never gets in trouble and does what's asked of him but it seems like his ceiling has been hit.

His ceiling may have been hit, but without his points yesterday, we lose. Until someone else can bring everything and/or more that he brings to the game, he shouldn't lose any minutes.
