What was up with the ridiculous noise level tonight?

I have been attending OU basketball games regularly since the 80-81 season and never have I heard the music and PA as deafening loud as it was tonight.

They talked about it during the radio broadcast. The LNC has new speakers, but why they were cranked so loud, no one seemed to know. But Toby and the color guy agreed with you that they were too loud.

You obviously weren't at the game to enjoy the new speakers.

And yes I'm an old fart. :D

I'm younger than you all....and it was turned up more than usual tonight.

But, it didn't make me enjoy the game any less

I was there. I like the band to be loud so that doesn't bother me. Maybe it's lounder is some locations than others because I really didn't notice it - or maybe I'm going deaf in my old age! :ez-laugh:

it was insanely loud. saw a toddler covering his ears. I leave concerts with my ears ringing. I should never leave the LNC with my ear ringing.

It was incredibly loud. Honestly made it unenjoyable during time outs. Is there someone to email about this because it's easily correctable.

My ears were numb when we left too. It was tolerable when the band played. Ridiculous otherwise. I tweeted ou_mbball during the game and got no reply.

When I first saw this thread, I thought you were talking about how loud it got when Trae hit 20 assists. I was surprised that such a sparse crowd could actually get loud.

We would never know how loud the crowd was for the music blasting.

Didn't get to go tonight. Was it as ear numbing as it was Tuesday night?
