Isaiah played well all year and then was a complete no show for the NCAA tournament. I wonder what happened to him. Was he hurt, or have some personal issues that anyone knows about. Probably the worst 3 game stretch of his career, were the last three games. Kruger wouldn't even play him down the stretch last night. Love the kid and think he is a good player and this thread isn't meant to get on him, heck everyone has a bad stretch once in a while. Just wondering if it was just that he was in a funk or whether there was something else going on.

At least to me, he didn't look like the same player during the tournament.

All in all, thought the team did great this year and am really looking forward to next year. Can't wait to see the new kids and redshirts play.

I think a lot of his problem last night was his shot selection. When Buddy went out he looked like he was pressing and in turn he took some bad/difficult shots.

Feel bad for the kid, playing relatively close to home I'm sure a lot of friends and family were there.

He was awful and borderline unplayable last night.

He didn't have it last night. I couldn't believe Frank was in at the end of the game though because he wasn't playing well either.

Ever since he hurt his wrist his shot seemed off . He always had a flat shot but now it seems even worse

He hurt his wrist with like 2/3rds of the season left and led the conference in 3 point shooting. It wasn't the wrist, he just had a questionable shot selection some times.

I think he has played selfish lately. He was so much better when he was spotting up and shooting out of the offense early in the year.

Ton of ability. Terrible shot selection. Mr. ill-advised jump shot. Terrible body language on the court. Always slumping his shoulders and hanging his head after mistakes. He has gotta shake that to get better. Can't relieve Kruger put up with that all year. Hope he changes his attitude for next year. He could really be an excellent all round guard with his skills.

This ^^^^

He does so much better when he lets the game come to him. He is not a point guard and I hope next year that Woodard can do more to find Cousins his shots.

Yup.. think he's got attitude problems

I don't think it's this ... I think if he does have attitude problems, they are personal (meaning, hard on himself, low self confidence, or something like that). Seems to be a great team guy, but has a low basketball IQ that impacts shot selection, etc.

IQ is an issue. It was obvious he was told to stop shooting. And down the stretch he missed scoring opportunities.

Cousins had a bad game by forcing some shots. This attitude problem talk is nonsense. He's the hardest worker on the team. He led the B12 in 3 pt shooting %. I thing Kruger gives him the green light. He's an outstanding defender and rebounding guard.

I'm not buying the bad attitude talk.

This crap has to stop. He had a bad game. Go reread the article about what has made himself and the other 14 guys on this team. He is nothing but hardworking and selfless.

Never been a problem never an attitude problem.

He and Spangler were our leaders this year. Vocally.

He's an emotional kid which leads to too many highs and lows while on the court. Just stinks because we needed him badly yesterday and he would have been the difference between winning that game or going home like we did.

All true. The bad attitude talk is absurd.

Isaiah Cousins is an important part of the team's success. He is a team leader. He leads by example as a "gym rat" that sets an example for others on how to work hard and improve.

Just b/c Cousins does some good, or is a gym rat, doesn't mean he doesn't play with an attitude. Also doesn't mean it doesn't rub off on his teammates. I don't recall Buddy arguing with the refs at all the last two years. I've seen him question more calls this year than I recall him doing the last two years combined. Same with Woodard. I think that comes from Cousins, who never things he fouls. And Cousins lets bad plays affect his play. If he turns it over, or misses a shot, he is going to play bad D on the other end. Just about guaranteed. Something I noticed all year.

Not trying to say the kid is TMG, or WW, but Mercedes is right above when he said Cousins' emotions lead to the up and down play as much as anything. And it wasn't just one bad game. He didn't play well in really any of the postseason games.

I think he just put too much pressure on himself and couldn't pull out of it. He's his own biggest critic. I honestly thought he was the best player on the team for the first 1/3 season.

The last quarter of the season he has made a bunch of bonehead plays, has questionable shot selection, has disappeared at times and generally been inconsistent in every part of the game. I have no idea what the problem is but I doubt it's attitude unless he is going through something like "players block" (like writer's block).
