What's the story on the Byford kid

Read in the Tulsa World today that ORU signed a kid with the last name of Byford. Supposedly, he is 6'6 and ran a 49 second 400 meters last year. Moreover, his dad is a former OU football player.

I've never heard of this kid, did we recruit him? He sounds like an unbelieveable athlete. Can he not play? Bad grades? Bad kid?

If not, then why in the world wouldn't we be recruiting him. So, for those guys in the know, what is the story on this kid and why isn't he at OU?

He's a tweener as he's not really a 3 or a 4 so that his limited to him a lower major level, especially defensively. Great fit for ORU and great kid but he's not OU caliber.

He wasn't really on the radar and I think he had a decent summer. The school I work at and coached at played them. I don't know that he is what Kruger is wanting. No quick enough for 3 and not big enough for 4. He is not a bad kid that I know of or have heard.
