Which school do you hate the most??

Kansas basketball fans are no different then OU football fans. They have a great program, and they act that way. I don't see why that is so bad?

OU football:
ranked #1 for the 100th time in the AP, most of any team.
7 national championships in the modern era, 2nd most behind only Notre Dame (8)
espn ranked the greatest college football programs of alltime recently and listed OKlahoma as #1.

Kansas basketball:
Not considered the best or even on the short list of the best by any measure.
Kansas basketball = a weaker version of Texas football. Probably in the top 10 but not in the top 5.

Feel better?

Heck, they were like that back in my days as an OU student ('77-80). We were better than them in '77 and '79, but they still had that Longhorn-like attitude towards us. I think a lot of it was because they were offended that a lowly "football school" was going to win their pre-determined league title.

I also think at least in the Bliss era, and most of the Tubbs era, that racism (based on the rosters for each school) also played a role. I have no doubt that it was also why some non-OU fans in central Oklahoma rooted for KU over us, and also gleefully rubbed it in when we lost the "Mistake of '88."

Racism? Against who? Didn't that team have players like Manning and Newton? I've followed KU back to JoJo White and although they seem to have quite a few good White players but they have also had their share of Black players.

Living among the sainted KU fans gives you a different perspective. The battle cry from Snob Hill has always been "wait until basketball". In the 1970's the Big was ruled by KU and to a lesser extent KSU and MU(the schools with the big field houses). When OU won under Bliss they couldn't stand it. And then when Billy came along they totally lost their minds. It was as if their birthright had been taken away from them. To this day they can't stand any basketball success by OU.

Having said that MU fans suck much more.

Hate is too strong of word for me to digest, unless we are talking about my ex-wife............

I will never ever root for The Pokes, never............So there you have it!
